That is a very good price for a train departing next Sunday, seeing that the best walk on fare is £105, I would advice buying it now before it disappears. Best I could get it down to was £63 but that evolves split advance tickets, but for the sake of £4 take the £67 fare is a much better option.Whoa! The £67 is listed on other sites as an off peak single internet only - but they show no availability for it.
So who can actually issue one of these tickets? Is it a special from direct rail (who appear to be raileasy under another nane)? Or have direct rail goofed in offering it?0 -

It's one of those Virgin Trains 'Special' Off peak singles that normally gets used with an advance single. The Virgin Trains Website wouldn't display the fare unless I searched as a return instead of a single.
But here's the T&C of the ticket from the Railuneasy website, just need to click 'for details of the selected fare'

This is a discounted, off peak single fare (SVH) but only sold as part of a return journey.

Hi,
My sister would like to come down to London from Manchester for my Mum's 60th on Tuesday 5th July to arrive in the late afternoon/evening and return to Manchester the next day anytime really. The cheapest ticket I have found so far is £34. Does anyone know if this can be beaten?
Thanks so much!0 -

If that's a return price then it's a very good price and I doubt you'll find it any cheaper, would advice buying now before they disappears.
TBH the only way to make that cheaper IMHO is via Tesco clubcard vouchers on Redspottedhanky.comWhoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

I was wrong, there is a cheaper way, Megabus from Manchester Shudehill Interchange to London Victoria Coach station, its a coach trip that takes 4hrs 45min on average but a return cost on average £16 but there is some for £12.Whoa! I was planning a few days holiday in London but as we stay in North Scotland prices are expensive...
But noticed offer yesterday for East Coast trains - First class - £25 single any distance..
So Inverness to London £100 return for 2 - including free meals on journey - lasts 8 hours so plenty of time for relaxing with free food and drink..
