Well the most you can pay is the £66.60 offpeak return which you can buy on the day

As you've tried the obvious splitting points without success I doubt if you will do any better than that. Well not by more than 60p anyway - XC advance singles seem to be £33 each way on many trains. It may be worth trying their own site - they do discount some tickets there.

Not a split ticket route but does anyone know what happens if you split ticket and then one of the trains is cancelled/delayed?

    What is the cover?

Opinions differ. Some say that you can use the next train with no penalty and refer to clause 19 (I think) of the conditions of carriage which say that in specified circumstances you can use more than one ticket for a journey.

Others say that you must buy another ticket.
  • Hi, I am desperately trying to reduce the cost of visiting my boyfriend, he lives in Milton Keynes and I live in fleet, can anyone help me out pls? I am fairly new to this but not had much luck so far, I have tried singles instead of returns but thats not much cheaper, and ticket splitting doesnt seem to reduce the price either, if anyone has any suggestions i'd love to hear them!

    Thanks

How much do you currently pay?

An Off Peak Return via Kensington Olympia is £29.80. Just one change at Clapham Junction.

On the first journey there are 2 split points really - where you change train - Oxford and Birmingham new street try that first

And i think for the second one that may be your best unless you try going VIA london or splitting at darlington and Oxford.

    or multiples.

I would look properly but not at work
