Split Ticketing: Report successful routes here

Hi, i am looking for a really cheap deal on railtickets from either Darlington/Durham or Thornaby to London for shopping trip. 3 adults travelling in June (any friday early morn and coming back on the Sat afternoon). i'm used to paying ridiculously low prices like £8 each way but i can't find anything and i said i would pay for my sis!

Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks

Use this website
http://www.eastcoast.co.uk/ and then check if its possible to split at doncaster or peterborough - I suspect most of the direct advance singles (cheapest) have now gone..

Thanks for your help, you're right though - no cheap singles left via East Coast! Might just have to stump up the £65 and ask for more notice next time...

Could you travel from Bradford Interchange?
Or an Anytime Day Return from Leeds to Bradford Interchange is only £5.60.

Grand Central have a promotion at the moment which offers a return for £39.00 between 10 April and 22 May.

It's been mentioned before, but Split Your Ticket (www.splityourticket.co.uk) works fine for some routes but has limited coverage. And, when it finds a route, the 'last updated' date is usually in 2008 or 2009. Possibly the site's no longer being developed.

Having said that, Martin's guide mentions developing a tool to find split ticket savings.

Possibly he could get together with the guys who developed Split Your Ticket, as they have obviously done quite a bit of the spadework, with a view to making the site more comprehensive?

Its a good idea but people should remember not to book through the trainline link on there. use the TOCs own for further discounts and not all the split routes i just checked are worth the effort.. Travevlling time seems to long on the couple of routes i checked.

Hi sorry if this is the wrong forum or if I made a mistake but Im looking to travel from Motherwell to Leatherhead for a big family party on 16th April. I am disabled with a railcard. My return will be from London on the 19th or 20th April. Can anyone help me find the cheapest ticket. Ive tried to spit tickets but without success. I need to get to Leatherhead to rest before the party so looking for an early train. It looks like I need to travel via tube in london but not sure if tube cost is included in prices.

Tube will be included if you buy a through ticket.
But if you buy (say) a ticket to London and another ticket from London to leatherhead, then the cross London transfer will be extra.

You say you have had no success with splitting.
What prices have you found?

I found £159.30 return (2adults) this has gone up to £168 with east coast site. tried split at necastle or york or doncaster but these are making the price higher. I was looking at 9.04 from motherwell but timesd it for 13.00 from London KX
