Too early to be checking for tickets on that date.. 12 weeks before hand should get you the cheapest. But check if your valid for any railcard too

No need to book - just buy at Lancaster station before departure - £16 per adult, £8 for the 9YO and the 2YO goes free.

    No, that's not the cheapest.

There are some Advance Singles available on your dates at £10 each way.

Admittedly there are more at £11.50 each way, but it is possible at £20.00 return.

    Info from Southern Railway website.

Alternatively there are Advance Singles from New St to Milton Keynes at £3.50, together with Advance Singles from MK to Brighton at £6.75 each way.
So that's £20.50 return trip with the added benefit of avoiding London (via Kensington Olympia).
Those £6.75 tickets must be booked on the SR website mentioned above.
