Hello Everyone,

Does any kind sould know of any good routes from Peterborough to Blackpool?
Ideally get there earlyish on Friday and happily depart early on the Sunday.

Stockport to Stoke on Trent £11 Anytime return *Virgin Trains Only
Stoke on Trent to London £22.50 Super Off Peak return *London Midland Trains Only
Total Return £33.50 Can be cheaper if going for a day and getting day returns from Stockport to Stoke or getting advance singles from Stoke to London.
hi there,
thanks for this tip. can u tell me how to actually buy the super off peak return?? the website just tells u about it but doesnt give the option to see times its available....cheers!0 -
You can buy the superoffpeak return on the day if you want - it's a walkon ticket.
The website will give you times for it - you may have to click an option for slower trains or London Midland trains only depending on which site you are using. It will be something like after 0930 out and not between 1600 and 1900 return, any train at weekends, but don't quote me on the precise times0 -

Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place0 -

Peterborough to Nuneaton (XC)
*Nuneaton to Preston (Virgin)

*Doncaster-Manchester (TPE)
Manchester-Blackpool (TPE/Northern)
(* It can be cheaper to split at Sheffield rather than Donny, with an EC& Connections to Sheffield, then TPE from Sheffield to Manchester, it may be cheaper to split at Preston too)

OR
Peterborough-Manchester (East Midlands Trains)
Manchester-Blackpool (TPE/Northern)

The places shown above are generally where you change trains, not necessarily the best places to split the tickets.0 -
Could some kind person tell me the cheapest day return fare from Cheltenham Spa to Manchester. The journey would be sometime after Easter.
I would do it myself, but do not know the route and therefore stations North of Birmingham.
Also, generally, is it any cheaper to travel on a Saturday, rather than a weekday, bearing in mind that there's no Peak period?
Thx in advance."Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."0 -

The national rail website has a route map of all the network.just remember you could be eligible for further discounts if you book via the tocs website and never use raileasy or the trainline to book and pay for the tickets.one of the famous 50 -

If you want flexible tickets an off peak day return to Birmingham is £20.50 and an off peak return on to Manchester is £31.10. Cheaper than a through ticket at £65.80. Any train for these at weekends. You can buy on the day.
You can probably do it cheaper with advance singles but that depends on availability on the day you want to go. For example on 30 April you can currently do Cheltenham to Manchester for £19.50 each way on quite a few trains, but you would have to commit yourself now - or at least a fair way ahead of time as these fares are quota controlled and sell out.0
