That's daft. An open return (off peak) is just over £100
Other than trying National Express coaches I can't think of anything else.
Except just maybe travelling via London - sounds mad but there could be more cheap tickets that way. Use East Coast to get to London if you want to give it a try0 -
Thanks for your help, did'nt really understand about the return ticket thing but just got the return as it meant I can get a quicker train so effectively saved £20 quid or lost £5 lol but I prefer the faster train xxThat's daft. An open return (off peak) is just over £100

I save £45 per month on my monthly ticket by just splitting my monthly (season) ticket into two - I spent absolutely ages plotting the relevant fares between my home stop (Portchester) and work stop (Worthing) and whether two, three or more splits worked best. It appears that two seems to be optimum for most routes - details below! Also, an additional thing i noticed when planning my season ticket split was that (depending on the overall distance of your journey) a ticket may cost the same from your two closest stations to your middle stop, but it might also cost significantly less to go to one of your local stations over the other - there seems to be some 'zoning' that goes on in the pricing office!
So for me:
Monthly season ticket from Portchester --> Worthing = £255 pm
Split Monthly ticket from Portchester --> Havant --> Worthing = £209 pm
Saving £46 pm (£552 py)
The cheapest I found was £202 pm, but that involved a station that the trains I use don't stop at!
Strangely, if I was able to buy a full year ticket the best middle station would be Chichester:
Full direct price = £2660
Split price = £2016
saving £644 per year!!!!!
So definitely worth having a gander!!!!0 -

Any one know of any cheap tickets from london to York travelling on friday 26th Nov any time after lunch & returning sunday 28th November anytime any one help :-)Cheapest so far is 152.00 with raileasy
Can be slightly cheaper using Advance Singles.
If you are over 60, an Off Peak Senior Return with Grand Central Trains is only £51.75.
How many people does that £152.00 buy tickets for?
Oh, and try and avoid Raileasy... and avoid their fees.
