Hi Trying to find cheap train tickets at peak time for Bristol - London London to Bristol.

Ive tried spliting at Didcott Parkway which is a bit cheaper on the way but more expensive on the way back. Is this the cheapest way to do it? Can't get the coach because won't get me there on time, so train is the only option.

Any ideas?? The dates are 5th July (get in to London by 09:00 at the latest) -6th July (COMMING BACK AFTER 19:00)and 16th Aug Just for the day in by 09:15 back after 19:00.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you splitting advance singles or anytime returns? Try the latter as well if you haven't

Also worth looking at going to London Waterloo via Sallisbury - slower but often cheaper. 'Advanced search' or 'cheaper slower routes' will find it. Through fares no need to split and almost certainly more expensive if you try.

Where did you get that £96 from? It doesn't exist. The nearest is £92.60 which I think is via London and therefore not comparable

But why split at all - Guildford to Redruth through ticket £31.50 on a random date in June - and walkon for £47 on any date superoffpeak.

Yes - no problem. I think (you can check:D) that an anytime return Bristol to Didcot plus another Didcot to London is cheaper than a through anytime return. Could still be more than you want to pay though....

Reason is that Didcot London fares are priced for the slower turbo trains - but are valid on the HST as well.

VERY early morning Reading to Gatwick
    Late JULY midweek

I have spent a couple of hours trying to work out the cheapest way of doing this and my brain is more confused now than before I started

have just found VERY under advertised Gatwick Flyaway which is a groupsave type ticket :)

Hi there - is there a decent split between London and Edinburgh on the East Coast line?

    Thanks,

Have you tried for advance singles - that's usually far more rewarding than splitting.
  • Can someone help? Is there anyway to cut the cost from London to Bournemouth?
