09:35 from Wellingborough stops at Bedford at 09:49 and at Luton at 10:05.

    Edited to add...
Seems no point in splitting at Luton. Just at Bedford.
Off Peak Return Wellingborough- Bedford = £7.70.
Off Peak Return Bedford- London St.P = £18.00.
As you are using Off Peak Returns, just make sure the train you get on stops at Bedford. Most (if not all) do.

I am requesting some help guys. Have looked into splitting the journeys but cannot find out where they stop to split the route.

Looking to bring 3 adults from Liverpool to Gloucester this weekend. Have been badly let down by a relative who had arranged to bring them but he has had a better offer and simply dropped them

I know they have been looking forward to this for a long time so I have decided to pay for them to come down by train because we have planned a weekend for them. OK they are only cousins of my Dad but grew up like brothers and would be lovely to see them altogether again. My Dad is really unwell and I know he would love to see them :T

If anyone has the time or energy to work out best deal from Liverpool Lime Street, or Lpool South Parkway to Gloucester this Friday and return on Sunday evening. Looking for best possible deal because I am now paying.

    :o Appreciated any help please

    Split at Birmingham New Street.

Advance Singles from Liverpool Lime Street to Birmingham New Street are there for £9 per person each way.

Off Peak Return from Birmingham NS to Gloucester is £19.40 per person. Advance Singles are too expensive for this bit.

    Info from East Coast Trains.

The best I think I can find is singles at all the various changes... I PM'd you about times for the Sunday but this is definitely cheap if they can travel that time.

    OUT
    Lime Street - B'ham NS £9 10.04 - 11.47

    B'ham NS - Gloucester £8.50 12.30 - 13.22

    RTN
    Gloucester - B'ham NS £8.50 20.50 - 21.45

B'ham NS - L'pool LS £10.50 22.01 - 00.31 (change Stafford, cheaper as one ticket though!! Times will come up when you book)

109.50 overall for 3 adults (prices per person up there)

If anyone can find cheaper by splitting routes etc then that's great but looking at the individual prices I'd be happy to pay those.

EDIT: you may have to ask them to pay and refund them so they can collect tickets at the station with a card they have on them; the tickets may/may not get posted on time.

 Gives a total of £112.20. I was quoted £180 with no splitting so this looks really good :D

:T Big saving for me, that is the cost of a meal out over the weekend. Much appreciate your time and effort. Will go to local station and book these tomorrow :j

Many thanks. This gives a total cost of £220. My first enquiry with no splitting came to total cost of £180. So appears no advantage of splitting in this case  Appreciate your input though.
No, the total for three adults return from Liverpool Lime Street to Gloucester is £112.20, made up as follows...

One person each way Liverpool to Birmingham = £9
So one person return Liverpool to Birmingham = £18.
So three people return Liverpool to Birmingham = £54.

One person return Birmingham to Gloucester = £19.40.
So three people return Birmingham to Gloucester = £58.20.

Therefore total for three people from Liverpool to Gloucester return is £112.20.

However, having said all that, Namakemono's post appears to knock £2.70 off that total, but with the removal of some flexibility.

:D Many thanks but they need to be back in Lpool by 7-8pm (and I will have had enough by then ).

Not much difference between £109 and £112 if this gives me the earlier train times. Thanks you for taking the time and trouble. I was not convinced about trains splitting but I aqm now a convert!!
