Am planning to go from London to Berwick on tweed on 27th August and back on 28th , 3 adults and 1 child. The best rate I can get now is £248.65 total.

How do I find out where I can get split tickets to bring this price down? Which route?

    Thanks.
Firstly, get a Family and Friends Railcard.
That £248.65 fare drops to £172.50 with the railcard.

    Railcard normally costs £26.
But get 20% off a Family and Friends Railcard here... until end of July.
    Discounted price = £20.80.

By splitting at Newcastle you can save a few more pounds.

Might try splitting at Doncaster, Peterborough and/or York too.

Good morning, I am looking to travel from St.Austell in Cornwall on Fri 23rd July, going to Littlehampton and returning Sunday or even Monday the 25th July, not too fussed with times coming back.

Its for 1 adult and 1 child, we donthave any rail cards, would it be worth me buyin gone of those railcard 50% off vouchers from ebay and then buying a railcard.

Also would be ever so grateful on some split ticketing advice for the above journey.

What have you found so far?

Using Advance Singles without Railcard and without splitting can be done for £111.00.
Total for the two of you.

With a Family and Friends Railcard that fare drops to £62.90.

    Railcard normally costs £26.
But get 20% off a Family and Friends Railcard here... until end of July.
    Discounted price = £20.80.

Splitting at Exeter can reduce fare total to £54.80.

Info from East Coast Trains and Southern Railway.

Anyone know any split ticketing stations for Bristol to Oxenholme lake district?

We are 2 adults and 2 children with a friends and family railcard (one child does not need a ticket). Looking to go on a Sat and back on a Monday in August Bank Holiday.

    Any help would be great.

So you want to go on Sat 28 Aug and return on Mon 30 Aug. Have I got that right?

Going, total for all four of you with railcard can be only £25.65 using Advance Singles.

The return leg is more at £58.10.

Could try splitting at Birmingham or Manchester, but you may struggle to beat that outbound price.
  • My father-in-law has been taken seriously ill and I need to get to Carlisle or Newcastle tomorrow or Sat at the latest. £92 is the walk on fare and I'd appreciate it if anyone can suggest a cheaper way of doing it, thanks.

A single journey (i.e. no return) can be done for £47.00 on Friday.
Dep Cambridge 08:38, arr Newcastle 12:03. Advance Single = £47.00.
    Change at Ely and Peterborough.
If you want to go to Carlisle, on that same 08:38 dep an Advance Single would cost you £49.00. Extra change at Newcastle. Arr Carlisle 14:00.

Must buy this ticket before 6pm today.

There are also some £47 tickets on Sat to Newcastle... even a couple at £41.50.

    Info from East Coast Trains.

If you want to consider splitting, try Peterborough or Newcastle.
