Split Ticketing: Report successful routes here

Hi all.
I make a regular trip from Evesham to Wrexham (about once a month). Tend to leave on Friday afternoon and return Sunday afternoon. The Standard off peak open return is £45.50, any help on making a saving on this would be wonderful. I have had a look at split ticketing but I can't seem to make any savings that way. I don't tend to know very far in advance when I'm going there so can't really take advantage of booking weeks in advance.
Any help gratefully received. Thank you0 -

Evesham to Birmingham New Street, Off Peak Return = £13.70.
Birmingham NS to Wrexham General, Off Peak Day Single = £12.70.
Wrexham General to Birmingham NS, Off Peak Day Single = £12.70.
Total = £39.10. Saving = £6.40.
Not sure why a Off Peak Return from Birmingham NS to Wrexham General is £26.70, but even using that saves you £4.10.
All these are available on the day.
Details from East Coast Trains.

Cost for me and son (with railcard) more than £80, splitting the tickets at York and Newcastle brought it down to less than half that - very chuffed.
Also Carlisle to Chesterfield split at Manchester less than £15, rather than over £40!0 -

How old is your daughter? What sort of railcard do you have? What sort of fare is that £22? I can't find it. (£23 is my reckoning for a straightforward adult travelcard))
One possibility - a day return from Biggleswade to Kings Cross is £16.50 per adult. Buy a PAYG Oyster at Kings Cross (£3 deposit) and the tube is £1.80 each way to West Brompton. Cash in the Oyster when you get back to Kings Cross. So £20.10 return.
Edit - a day return from Biggleswade to Finsbury Park is £16.00- the Oyster fare if you change to the tube there is the same, so another 50p saved0 -

Thankyou very much dzug.My daughter is 27, we don't have a railcard. Hmm, I don't know why it was showing my end at £22?

We want to go on the train from Clapham Junction to Honiton 29th May returning 1st June.
I can not see it any cheaper than £45 single for 2 adults & 1 child.
Any tips?0 -

Ok, you have to get to Waterloo first, but the saving will cover that.
Megatrain tickets are not yet available for your dates, but 1st - 4th May your group could travel out for £22 and back for £18.
Alternatively, get a Family and Friends Railcard. Your £45 fare reduces to £27.20. More than covering the cost of the Railcard.0 -

What railcard?
How old is your daughter?
What dates do you plan to travel?
Can it be at any time of day?0
