If you mean when is the latest time I can buy them, I think it is 6pm on the day before travel. Although I have read in the Cheap Train Tickets article, that you can buy Advance Singles up until just before travel.
But do remember, these tickets are sold on a quota basis. So they do sell out. This means that they may become unavailable at anytime.
I think I should buy them now, it seems they are only getting down to £9.20 singles for the Cambridge to Peterborough leg though.0 -
Hi everyone, can anyone help me split ticketing Cardiff to Heathrow? I'm going in November so tickets haven't been released yet but looking at a return based on July (its a Saturday morning depart and Wednesday morning return) it costs just over £100 return.
Can anyone advise me please on best splits?
Thanks in advance!!!0 -

July hasn't been released yet either - you are looking waaay too far ahead. Months too early. Early May is the best available at the moment for cheap tickets. £30.50 each way seems to be the going rate though it can be cheaper
You may still find it cheaper (but slower) to get the train into Paddington (from £11.50 single) and the tube out again (£4.50 single) rather than use the Reading railair connection
Alternative: Cardiff to Hayes and Harlington, changing at Reading. Cheap advance tickets available. Then 140 bus every few minutes from just outside the station (£2) to Heathrow. Journey time 10 to 20 minutes depending on traffic Probably the cheapest route - but slow.0 -

There aren't any advance singles for that date - that's the full walkon fare
My guess is they will be released when engineering works have been finalised for that weekend.
Alternatively if you specify a route Llandovery it's £36.50 a head - and an hour longer.0 -

I am assuming it's engineering works - there's no other reason for there to be no advance fares that day, other than that they are being a bit slow about releasing them. They just don't sell out that quick to have been released and gone - not on every train
The National Rail site is supposed to have details of engineering work - but I've never succeeded in getting any sense out of it since they revamped it.0 -
Many thanks..0

Since seeing this idea mentioned I have done the Leeds/Taunton return journey on several occasions and generally save almost 50%. I break the journey down - Leeds/Sheffield/Derby/Birm/CheltenhamSpa/BristolTM/Taunton and then the same in reverse. Just occasionally I've had to juggle my timing if the train isn't stopping at Cheltenham as that's an expensive section. I find it best to have several screens open so that I can view and save sections, rather than having to rewrite info. But a half hour online means this pensioner can then treat herself to a coffee on board the train!!!!!! :T0
