    Hi

I'm trying to find the cheapest train tickets for Birmingham to London return for next Saturday 8th September - i know Chiltern Railways do the £15 walk on fare and the £5 E-day tickets but the train times are still quite restrictive even on a Saturday and travelling with Virign seems to bump up the price a lot, can anyone help with finding the cheapest tickets?

    Thanks!

There's a cheaper fare from New Street travelling via Northampton -called the Central/Silverlink fare. £21.90 day return - no time restrictions on a Saturday and can be bought on the day. The service is a bit slow though, sometimes with a bit of a wait at Northampton.
  • I believe last year they were doing a Christmas shopping train from Newcastle to London, there and back in one day and I wondered if anyone knows if they do it every year and if they do, when do they go on sale?

I need to travel from Norwich to Newcastle and back on Sat 15th September. I need to go as early as possible, coming back pretty much any time after about 5.30. The price it's coming up with for me is £67 which is way more than I can afford. I attempted the split fare thing but I seem to be tying myself up in knots. Is there anyway this can be done cheaper?

Can't see one off hand - that's actually quite a cheap fare.

Thanks... I'd feared not. I could have got it for £30 if I'd ordered on Friday so I'm kicking myself.

The cheapest train fares will be megatrain - but unfortunately they do not operate on Sundays. (The first on Monday am is quite early though)

Apart from that she will be limited to the normal fares less the railcard discount.
