EON Saveonline 3 & Saveonline 9

I am on Saveonline7 and yesterday had a letter from eon putting the old and new prices with and without vat clearly -presumably to comply with regulatory requirements - but not mentioning the availability of Saveonline 9 which, assuming it is already on the post 13 Sept price - as one of the callcentre staff I spoke to today confirmed to me it is - will then be cheaper. I asked when I phoned if it was better to change now or on Sept 13 and was first told now but when I pointed out the comparison being made was between ex vat prices and inc vat prices the advice was reversed. After putting the phone down I realised that it was better for my electricity to change now but the opposite for gas, so I phoned again to check if eon's computers could sort that out based on my previous consumption figures. The staff member I spoke to this time got interested as it became clear that he could no more get an answer on his system than I could by my calculations. After all this my impression is that eon's callcentre staff have not been properly trained in the details of the tariff changes and that these are in any case far too complicated for anyone to be able to work the detail out for themselves even if they have a reasonable knowledge of arithmetic and vat -and for the substantial number of people who cannot do their own calculations they are likely to end up on a more expensive tariff than they need. I am still unclear if eon will attempt to charge for leaving Saveonline 7. I think they will not as prices are going up - but has anyone had a definite statement?0

Even if I get charged £30 penalty, I would still switch to SaveOnline 9, as SaveOnline 8 will be £144 dearer.0

I had my letter on Friday and a letter today telling me they were increasing my Direct Debit from £103 a month to £120 based on the new tarif they were putting me on. I phoned and complained, changed to Saveonline 9 and my Direct Debit will now increase to £104 instead of £120. Not a bad difference! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. STILL no reaction from an EON rep to this thread - I still maintain that SOL 9 tariffs are unsustainable - suspect they have been told that it is going to be pulled or increased or both!!!!!0

This is like a soap opera.
You were with AEon, now you've dumped her and married EDwina, now you are having regrets because AEon went to rehab, and had a boob job, but you think she will cheat on you if you go back to her. And what about Edwina? Won't she get upset and demand alimony?0

Yes, it has been postdated. The saver online 3 finish date is now showing on my online account as 12th September. I was also told that I can change to a different tariff later on with no penalty charge.
Hi, I've been following this thread with interest! Following Sparkle's posts I've just called to switch from so3 to so9 effective from 13 Sept. I've been told this is not possible because 1. online tariffs cannot be reserved by phone and 2. It is not possible to postdate switches.
I said I've read that it is possible and the accountholder can see the postdated switch information on their online account.
Anyone got any ideas what I can do now? Call back and hope for a different advisor? To be fair to her, she put me on hold while she checked with a manager. Not the result I wanted though.0

I am on so4 which will be similar in price to so9 come september.
Do I stay as I am or should I go for so9 incase it has changed to so10 by then and probably cost more?0

            Eon Save Online 9
Should I stay or should I go now
If I go there will be trouble
and if I stay it will be double
so come on let me know now
 should I stay or should I go0

Personally I can't see why anyone would want to stay with Eon when they don't value their customers. Make what you can from switching companies, and find someone who values their cistomers.0

I've taken the plunge and moved from SaveOnline 2 to SaveOnline 9. Could have waited till the end of the month to make the most of the much cheaper v2, but as mentioned they could pull v9 any day. If they do the dirty and increase prices on v9, the £30 fee to switch away isn't too bad.0
