Lied to Jobseekers

Most unemployed are just unemployed workers.
Workers who have lost their jobs.
Just remember that.0 -

Everyone has "sinned" in some way - some much worse than committing fraud.
There are a lot of judgemental posts in the benefit section, and some need to look in the mirror at their own shortcomings, as there are a few on here that think they have lived perfectly and have always been 100 percent law abiding.
Hopefully we learn by our mistakes, that is why me make them. I think you should be honest OP, telling more lies is definitely not the way to go.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -
Own up. You may lose that two weeks money but surely your OH can help you through 2 weeks? You'll feel better about it then - no need to worry - losing that 2 weeks money is the worst that will happen - you will survive. x0

That seems stupid, especially considering holidaying aboard is often much cheaper than staying in the UK.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -
Pearlstar is right, the trouble with lies, as you have found, is that you have dug yourself in a bit of a pit but just confess all when you go in and be done with that. The advisors are only human and doing a job. You cannot be a jobseeker in the uk if you are abroad tanning yourself. You have signed a Jobseekers agreement. It doesnt really matter that it was paid for, you may have had some savings, you are entitled to have some. the real point is you didnt tell them or lied about what you were doing in that 2 weeks, just do the do and be done with that and learn from it. You dont sound very old without being patronising, so just live and learn from it, now you know - move on and hopefully you will find a job soon and then be free to do whatever you want! good luck0

I don't make the rules!
I imagine the logic is that you could come back to your home area for an interview if on holiday in the UK which is rather more difficult if abroad.0 -

Jobseekers is paid to those who are actively seeking work in the UK. Therefore it should be common sense that you cannot be actively seeking work in the UK if you are in another country, enjoying a holiday.
The problem with common sense though is it is not that common - obviously!“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -
I lied to jobseekers about going on holiday to Greece. They have called me in now and really worried. I didn't paid for the holiday it was a present from my boyfriend.
I know I shouldn't have lied but I couldn't afford to sign off and then sign back on as it would have taken a few weeks.
I understand people out there think people on jobseekers don't want to work but we do.
Any advice of what will happen to me.
edit. i have now read later posts.0
