Lied to Jobseekers

A lot of posts are actively encouraging fraud on here and that's against site rules (morals aside)!
I wonder when they'll be arresting them & locking them up.
It's funny the double standards used against people on benefits.
Nobody in the incompetent jobcentre really has the slightest interest and many advisors would simply point out your mistake & tell you to keep quiet.0 -
Lol you had an interview but cancelled and your used this interview as a reason why you didnt sign on, dont you think the JC will contact the firm the interview was with ?. Id come clean about it.0

I believe it is, yes, because you would be obtaining money (sick pay) through deception. I'm not sure how it works if you don't receive sick pay, but it's obviously cause for disciplinary action.
But either way, deliberately deceiving the DWP in order to obtain benefits (financial gain) is fraud by any stretch of the imagination! You may choose to try and justify it, but it is still fraud.
Likewise, you do not have to be thrown in prison to be guilty of fraud.0 -
Sorry to be controversial but there are people out there working and paying taxes who cannot afford to go to Greece for 2 weeks, maybe thats why some are unsympathetic!

I was told I could not claim JSA for a week when I was at Residential School for my Open University course, because it meant I was not available for work if a job came up. The adviser was so harsh about it I wouldn't have dared float the idea of fancying a holiday !!!!MBNA 1 : Jan 2009 £5,158.26 / Dec 2010 £4,191.43
MBNA 2 : Jan 2009 £12,534.40 / Jan 2011 £9,869.73
NEXT : Jan 2009 £818.95 / Jan 2011 £186.85
Weight lost since Nov 2009 : 33lbs / 18 to go :j0 -

Unsympathetic and jealous, accusatory and condemning are not the same thing!
Would people have been nicer if she had a week in Skeg or is any holiday a crime if you claim benefit?0 -

If you read OP´s post it says the holiday was all paid for BEFORE she went on to JSA and her boyfriend paid for the holiday. Nothing to do with hard working tax payers.
OP Just come clean, you have told so many lies you will get caught out anyway.
You shouldn’t of lied, you know that, now face the music so to speak.0 -

Probably yes, but thats hardly the point is it? There are a lot of people who tell lies to get benefits, the OP has only been a bit sneaky but as it is bothering her I think she knows really what she has to do for her own sake!
Personally I hope she gets no more than a bit of a telling off, if that, I think she has punished herself already.
