hello
i was here a few months ago and rying really hard to lose some baby weight that had hung around for nearly 5 years. i was 12.5 stone almost consistently and in the past, trying to get below 12 stone was near impossible. i was going to the gym with some friends and cutting out snacks and rubbish from my diet. im veggie so i eat loads of veg and fruit - im just a snack addict. anyway, i managed to get to just under 12 stone (with the help and encouragement on this board) and then before the holidays slipped again. im back to tell you that the last 3 or 4 months ive managed to incorporate swimming for and hour twice a week into my life. i go regulary and .... im down to 11.5 stone! Im aiming for 11 stone by xmas. Im now wearing clothes i only dreamt i would fit back into and everyone has noticed the change in me. i even got asked for id at the supermarket the other day (im in my 30s!) i still treat my self occassionally but am just keeping an eye on my portion sizes and not snacking nearly as much in the day. the swimming is definately helping - im becoming much more toned and its burning the fat. anyhow, i just thought id share my news. thank you for all the words of advice on here :j:money: Saving money, saving the environment and saving space (aka decluttering) - my motto this year!0 -
Hi everyone - I've lurked for a while but I'm coming out of the woodwork and making myself publicly accountable now!
I got a leaflet through my door advertising a new local branch of SW but I figured that weighing myself for £1 every week at the gym and getting motivation here for free would be a lot more MSE!
I need to lose at least 6 stone and the more I exercise, the more my weight seems to creep upso I'm pretty sure that my diet is in need of a major overhaul. I have a DH who insists that he loves me as I am, however I reckon that's just his excuse for sneaking crisps and biscuits into the weekly shop! And he barely has a spare ounce of fat on him
Anyway after having the MIL up to stay this week and taking her out and eating naughty things like fish & chips in Blackpool, it's time to knuckle down and focus. To motivate myself I've decided to impose a QVC ban until I lose the first stone! (Which is probably for the best, I love their maxi dresses)
My weigh day is Thursday and I use a machine at the gym which measures weight and height, and calculates BMI and body fat %, all for the princely sum of £1. However it seems to come up with a different height every time I use it - between last week's weigh-in and this week's, I've gained both 1 pound in weight and 1 cm in height - anyone else experienced this?If it doesn't move, eBay it until it does
