Eric - how is the cold ? You need to be careful with that rotator cuff. Have you seen a physio? they have some great exercises to help..... well they did after I tore mine ;)

its like a 4/10, i have read that the steroid injection can kick them off as it reduces your immune system

the GP i saw is an osteopath, he wants to try the injection for a couple of months and see what happens

Horray I am joint SOTW. Well done Frodo

Well yesterdays shopping trip not too good really. All of the more traditional Mother of the Bride outfits were too short (dress and jacket) and showed every lump and bump.

Did see this trouser suit but they didn't have it in my size.

I ordered it online when I got home to try it. What do you think?

Decided I couldn't take a whole week off afterall and went to the gym this morning :rotfl:Only 3 days off exercise and I felt unfit. It was initially hardgoing

    1 hour Crosstrainer - 8.21k (563 calories)
Found it hard to begin with. Was sweating under 10mins. Thought a rest from exercise should make you come back stronger but not so. Was aiming for 5k in under 30mins but couldn't quite make it so went for the full hour!

    31minutes 28 seconds - Rower - 5000m/5k (251 calories)
Got back in my stride but after a while my shoulders/ribs were burning/aching but kept at it. Was grunting with every pull (sounded like a tennis player :rotfl:). Was happy when other users sat alongside me, but left after 5/10 mins. I was the last woman [STRIKE]standing[/STRIKE] rowing :D

    13minutes 26 seconds - Bike - 3k (78 calories)
Had to leave early as could only park the car on the side road until 09:30 :D

    TOTAL: 1 hour 44 minutes 64 seconds (I think).

Thank you very much to everybody who sent me birthday wishes for yesterday. Very much appreciated.

If I have learned anything in 76 years it is that nothing worthwhile was ever achieved without effort, without commitment, without what the late Baden-Powell called 'stickability' i.e. carrying on with what you've decided and not giving up when it gets difficult. I'm sooooo proud of my eldest GD. A few years ago she was homeless, jobless, no one at school thought much of her abilities because she was dyslexic. She lives in a one-bedroom council flat which she calls her 'little palace' and got a job as a youth worker. Last year she was given the opportunity to go to college to do a painting and decorating course. Yesterday she found that she'd passed Stage 2 with a 'merit'. Stage 1 had been a distinction. Now, she finds that many doors are opening for her. Even if the council decides it can't afford youth workers, she can transfer to the Building Services part of the council. Or other possibilities. The future has become a lot brighter for her and it's down to her seizing an opportunity with both hands and really going for it.

There is no other way, that I know of. No good tinkering around the edges. Like weight loss. No good saying 'oh I can still have my chocolate' or 'oh I can do it during the week but go back to old ways at the weekend'. You have to either do it, or not at all.

DH has a favourite saying: 'Luck is when enterprise meets opportunity'. And he should know, bless him. Meeting him and marrying him was one of the best things that ever happened to me. But we both had the courage to reach out and grasp that opportunity when it happened. Too many people have said to me 'oh I couldn't have done what you did'. Well, that's maybe why they're facing a lonely old age.

Sorry for the late post 0.5 lbs loss FS, can you add it ready for next week?

That small loss was only to be expected - I've hardly excercised this week been working lots of lates this week and had a double shift yesterday 7am till 10pm.

I have a day off tomorrow so I'm hoping to get to the gym then. Food has been much better too - I have a tendency to snack when I get in from a late shift, but I've managed to knock it on the head for a week or so now.

My laptop is playing up too, so I'll post as and when I can!
