Why are you concerned about 'what other people might think'? It's none of their business, is it? You're there for the same reason that everyone else is.

If you want to do WW you could always do it online and then you don't have to see anybody. Me, I'm doing the Dukan Diet and it is working. Have a look at https://www.dukandiet.co.uk Worth a look at, at least.

Will-power is something that grows when you use it. It's about changing habits. Weight loss is mostly in the head. You have to want to do it. Do you want to feel more comfortable in your own body, to be able to move around easier, to wear different clothes? IMHO it's worth sitting down with pencil and paper and working out WHY you want to lose weight, what led to your becoming the weight you are, and how life could change for you if you weigh less.

My stepdaughter has recently lost 7 1/2 stone with Slimming World, and this pencil and paper exercise was what she did at the very beginning. She's found that the group she goes to is extremely supportive and she has made some real and long-lasting friends.

  • Thank you so much, I did the pencil and paper exercise you're talking about last week and I have a list of reasons and goals which I hope will help me. I think I'm just panicking now that the day to stand up in front of people and actually do something about it has arrived!

I'm going to go to the meeting - fingers crossed everyone is friendly!

    Thanks again for your help.
