Couldn't get my Wii fit balance board to work, tried everything, so I have ordered a new one and Zumba.
Does Zumba use the balance board? Any one know of any other titles that use the Balance board apart from Wii Fit (plus)?

thats what i do
every time i complete a 5k, i add 0.1 to the speed next time0 -
Mr FredSnail,
+50 mins for me Free Step Wii Fit.
Had a bad day yesterday, Indian Takeaway, not a failure of will power just OH needs someone to share it with and life has to go on to some extent.
Had a Chicken Madras (wonder if it should be called Chennai now?) but like many many curries I have had I had to spoon off at least 50ml of oil to get to the sauce, did not eat much of the sauce in the end. The dry vegetable curry with it was better but still plenty of oil at the bottom so left that part, had boiled rice instead of usual Pilau, not noticable, at least the OH didn't notice.
I work with a lot of Indian staff in my job including many working in India and they say that most if not nearly all Indian restaurants in the UK are not Indian but Bangladeshi, Proper Indian has a lot less sauce, is drier with lot less oil used, however the nearest real Indian to me is about 20 miles away so unfortunately not much I can do about it.
Today is not going to be much better unfortunately, diet wise anyway, as Brother's 40th Birthday meal at all you can eat buffet, going to stick to meat and salad and avoid carbs.

not so easy with this cold at 4/10 and possibly still a bit sick from the steroid
Awesome job, around 9 min miles, reckon if you went out on the road you would thrash it by about a minute, but then I think treadmill is a bit kinder on your body. Well done.
I did 1.15hr cycling yesterday and just done 1 hr cycling in the rain but may do a bit more today.
I went out for tea last night and I am too scared to weigh myself today, had garlic bread & cheese start (shared with husband) super food salad for main and did not eat the cheese and a scoop of ice cream. I need to stop snacking on nuts, my friend tells me they are the devil if trying to lose weight.
Good news is I did a polar hr fit test today, I have improved considerably and now considered 'elite' though I think they use the term loosely! So not sure on my weight will be brave and face the music tomorrow x0 -

I do what I think is 5K on my treadmill (it's 5.ooo something?) and it takes me about an hour, around 400 cals going around 5.8 speed. Am I just really slow?
Frodo sounds to me like u have it in MPH and that is 5 miles not 5k, big difference. I think you are running at just over a 10 min mile pace so not slow, and remember treadmill running is HARDER!
To those of you who are bored with a treadmill I would recommend a garmin forerunner, pick them up on amazon for about £75, but very motivating and well worth it. HTH0 -

If I have learned anything in 76 years it is that nothing worthwhile was ever achieved without effort, without commitment, without what the late Baden-Powell called 'stickability' i.e. carrying on with what you've decided and not giving up when it gets difficult. I'm sooooo proud of my eldest GD. A few years ago she was homeless, jobless, no one at school thought much of her abilities because she was dyslexic. She lives in a one-bedroom council flat which she calls her 'little palace' and got a job as a youth worker. Last year she was given the opportunity to go to college to do a painting and decorating course. Yesterday she found that she'd passed Stage 2 with a 'merit'. Stage 1 had been a distinction. Now, she finds that many doors are opening for her. Even if the council decides it can't afford youth workers, she can transfer to the Building Services part of the council. Or other possibilities. The future has become a lot brighter for her and it's down to her seizing an opportunity with both hands and really going for it.
There is no other way, that I know of. No good tinkering around the edges. Like weight loss. No good saying 'oh I can still have my chocolate' or 'oh I can do it during the week but go back to old ways at the weekend'. You have to either do it, or not at all.
DH has a favourite saying: 'Luck is when enterprise meets opportunity'. And he should know, bless him. Meeting him and marrying him was one of the best things that ever happened to me. But we both had the courage to reach out and grasp that opportunity when it happened. Too many people have said to me 'oh I couldn't have done what you did'. Well, that's maybe why they're facing a lonely old age.
Great post margaret, and happy birthday for a few days ago!
I feel a bit underqualified to say this at the age of 24, but i do agree with everything you've said there!0 -
Happy Birthday Mandz!

Bought the Greek yoghurt in Lidl this morning. Don't know if it's the same one y'all on about but it does NOT taste lush :rotfl:The one I bought is: Eridanous Greek Style Creamy Yogurt (1000g) @ £1.55. It's got 10% fat written on it. I saw the fat-free small tubs but went for this. I had to force myself to eat the one I put in a bowl and I will have to eat it all as don't want to waste it :rotfl:Think I'll be sticking to my mullerlight
Anyway,
1 hour Pilates
1 hour Zumba
I was a bit relieved today when I saw our Zumba instructor's tummy. It was hot in the studio so she took off her top. She has a bit of a bellyShe's well fit otherwise and has a lot of demand as a Zumba instructor as she's very good. She has one child afaik but her belly fat was very obvious. Maybe it's just difficult for mum's to lose the bellyfat.
30 minutes Crosstrainer 4.86k (292 calories)
Was aiming for 5k in under 30 minutes but didn't quite make it. Must have been knackered after the Pilates and Zumba :rotfl::D
Total: 2 hours 30 minutes :jSECRET TO WINNING PRIZES:
