Today 70.9 kg which is 0.2 kg less than a week ago.

This is my 76th birthday and I am still determined to lose weight. I'm still doing the Dukan Diet, the 14th day of the Cruise phase, which means alternating days of protein only with days of protein and veg.

It is NOT a quick fix. There are no quick fixes. I am losing weight slowly and steadily - at least I'm not stationary as I was a few weeks ago.

DH is doing some of it with me. He ate the last potato we had in the house, that was at the weekend and he says he intends to buy no more potatoes.

After a while I find you just don't want the rubbish food which is no good to you. We went down the sea-front among all the smells of fish and chips, ice cream, fried 'donuts', you name it. We bought some fresh fish at the fishermen's co-operative and some crab-sticks which we had as a snack.

I find that with this, as everything worthwhile in life, if you want to achieve results you have to put in some effort. I can't do the physical effort any more, but I do make sure I stick to what I've decided on.

Eric, any steroids are well-known to affect weight. You need to ask your medical people about it.

    Hey all,

Fred put me down for -2 lbs this week thanks, now under 13 stone yay!

Struggled to weigh myself as the scales seemed to have a mind of their own, anyway got 3 consistent readings eventually ( I didn't take the lowest :D )

I have managed to stick to 1500 calories a day for the last 4 days, although I am sure that this would be a struggle long term. C25K again tonight, looking forward to it, how odd :). Managed a light jog from work to station without stopping, usually I am late for my train and end up running, couldn't previously do half of it before slowing to a walk so evidence C25K is improving my fitness.

My Brothers 40th Birthday Saturday and his wife has invite us down to an all you can eat buffet resturant  any tips except don't eat all you can :D

I haven't really exercised since Sunday as taking a week off but I suppose I should log my cycling (daily commute to the station and back). I cycle to the station, park my bike, then take the tube. It does raise my heartrate so I'm counting it this week. I never have done in the past, don't know if I should from now on but anyway ... :D

So, Fred, 1½ hours cycling :D

    Happy Birthday MaragetClare

Really pleased to have report a -3lb loss this week :j

Have been excercising almost everyday for the challenge and have also cut my carbs a bit more. Seems to be making a difference so need to keep it up.

DD2 wedding is in Oct - have been putting off buying my outfit in the hope of losing weight. Can't leave it any longer so off to the shops today.
Still 8 weeks to go, so potentially could lose another stone. Not sure whether to risk buying something a bit tight or play it safe and buy something that fits now, but could be a bit big on the day.

8 weeks is a long time. I'd buy something a bit smaller. It'll be an incentive for you :D

Eric hope you mend quickly, it totally blows being injured. I remember being so frustrated throughout the whole of my pregnancy because I couldn't train properly, ended up ging into labour after a spin class!

Anyhow, through many many many injuries over the years my advice is to rest it as much as you can until it is better then go steady. Must be so annoying as you are obviously fit as a fiddle and probably worried about losing fitness but you muscles have a level of memory and no will come around again after a little coaxing, good luck get well soon.

Can I log 45 mins from last night please, just on the turbo.

Decided to race on Sunday, just going to do the swim and bike of a triathlon as my hip is quite injured at the moment and don't want to mess it.

Oh and total loss since last weight is 1.5lb and have been 10st 8.5lb for 3 days now.

I can still do cardio, although i skipped it this morning as i fell like crap, but i think that might be because of the steroid injection

    Happy happy birthday Margaret Clare.

Id go a wee bit smaller Jess. You could most certainly loose at least half a stone in that time.

    1 hour at gym today.

Happy birthday Margaretclare. We went to the seaside a couple of weeks ago and I gave in and had not only fish and chips but a 99 too.

I'm going to start posting my weekly losses now as I hope it'll help to keep me focused. I weighed in at 11st 13lb yesterday - the first time in about 3 years that I've been less than 12st and according to the controversial BMI I am only 2lb from no longer being "overweight", though I think my ideal weight is a fair bit less than the upper limit of my ideal BMI (if you get what I mean?!)
