Really? I recently noticed there are no pics of me when pregnant, which makes me feel quite sad!0 -

Just a quick update for you all. It all went silent for a few weeks after I told the BM that I had wanted to go with my SIL.
Then she sent me an e-mail saying that she felt a bit hurt at being demoted. My birthday came and went with no real marking of the event (It was my 30th as well)
Last week we had a small bit of e-mail contact she became an auntie and I thought I'd make the effort. A couple of e-mails went back and forth, she asked how I was in the second e-mail, I said I was well and I 'd recently been promoted (I had been gagging for my promotion for over a year) and I said that the other half was doing well.)
Anyway. It ended up with her saying we must meet up, blah, blah and said I'd get back to her with a date.
Last night I suddenly realised that not only had my so called best friend missed my 30th Birthday because she was upset at my wedding, but she hasn’t yet even asked me where the wedding is, asked me in the last year or so how my other half is (all my friends do when they are texting me and I do when I text them about their friends/partners/husbands). She also didn't congratulate me on my promotion when I mentioned it.
I appreciate that I might sound a bit self obsessed at this point, but when you've met with them more than halfway for a couple of years (I did the whole, how is your sister, hows the baby, hows your sister coping, how was the birth etc) I just suddenly realised at the weekend that when she hasn't even asked me where the wedding is 2 months after I've booked it, it's time to give her a wide berth.
Thanks for all your help guys in the worst part of the job, but I think me and my ol'friend will now be parting ways!0 -
Well at least you know who your friends are!
If she were my friend I think I too would let the contact dwindle away.

Just found this thread - and well done sportsbeth for your courage.
You did the right thing. She certainly doesn't seem to be a true friend.
