How to sack a bridesmaid?

Hmmmmm. An invite. Part of me says that if I don't hear anything between now and November then def not! I'm not paying £100 a head to have a fair weathered mate there!
She's also not part of my bigger circle of friends so we're hardly likely to bump into each other0 -
Well done for being brave and subtle at the same time. It's your's and you partners wedding which means you two call the shots, no one else, and who ever you choose to have as your bridesmaid and best man is you choice so pick the one friend who has been there to laugh and cry with you when you have needed someone0 -
Finally! I thought you'd gotten lost....possibly at sea.
The email was a stroke of genius, and seems to have done the trick.0 -
Perhaps she's a regular on here - has been reading the thread crowing at the thought of a bridesmaid getting sacked when her mate is loaded - she knows this as she has been wined and dined at their expense and has an expensive dress lined up - thats without the jimmy choos!!
Then she got 'that' email.....0 -
well what about our invite then to the hen nite
(ny excuse for a p**s up lol)
and if we cant make it tell us the date and we'll have a drink for youIf we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

SHEARERBOBS wrote:Hmmmm tricky one...I had this dilema but in a different way. My sister in law was being my bridemaid (i was forced into it as cant stand her). We bougth her a lovely fitted dress then she got pregnant...she'd ahve been 8 months pregnant on my wedding day - no way was i having her look hideous in my photos. So my best friend stepped in to do it but i said to my SIL that obviously she couldn't be my BM but we had a very special role, would she be a witness for us? She was happy enough with that. So you could always try that one!
Excuse me, I know you wanted an excuse to get her out of the bridal party but I see absolutely no reason why someone can't be a bridesmaid/matron of honour whilst pregnant.
Being pregnant is to be beautiful and provided you have an appropriate style dress you shouldn't look hideous in the photos. (Your SIL bit aside) I would be honoured to have my bridesmaid pregnant or not and honoured to be a bridesmaid, pregnant or not.
Ok, I'll get down off my high horse now.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

:rotfl: I nearly posted the same as you re that hideous comment, but chickened out as I thought perhaps I was being overly touchy being a proud new mum. Expect the poster was more swayed by her feelings for the actual individual concerned, but I don't think I ever looked hideous even right at the end0 -
To be fair - I wouldn't have wanted the everlasting reminder of the size I was at eight months and would have run - bump and all away from being a bridesmaid and the photos!! it would have taken a hell of a posy to cover and then still would have shown my fat moon face!!0
