How to sack a bridesmaid?

dont mention anything to her about it unless she mentions it!
next time she arrives on a freeloading trip and mentions the wedding just say that you and SIL have been really busy with the planning etc and buying dresses and if she is stupid/cheeky enough at this point to ask 'you picked out my dress without me/what am I wearing/will I like it?' just say ah, yes, I need to talk to you about that... and explain that you are only having family in the line up but you would still like her to come to the wedding as she is such a special friend!
if she decides not to come then it is her loss - if she does come just make sure that there is an usher on hand to usher her away if she gets legless at the reception and makes a fool of herself.
please dont let it ruin the excitement of preparing your wedding - you already have enough to think about without worrying this girl who takes you and OH for granted0 -
You could do with losing a so called friend like that, so tell her anything you like!0

maybe you just have to take a dep breath and get it over with - it isn't going to go away. A bit like going to the dentist or giving birth - it's not going to be a bundle of laughs but there's no getting out of it. And the relief you will feel when you've explained all - as truthfully as possible - will feel good. Like someone said earlier, maybe things have all got out of hand on both sides - she might end up being a good friend, or she might not. Either way you'll end up being able to look forward to your wedding.
Good luck x0 -
She's been a bridesmaid 8 times? Good grief! I was only a bridesmaid twice, to very close and dear friends, both of whom had fairly sane weddings, and I vowed I would never do it again! It was just so much work! I guess if you're just extracting the urine, then maybe it's more of a laugh, but I ran myself ragged in both weddings trying to make sure everything was perfect.Hi, I'm Mich

this is
such a good question, and i am unsure at best how to figure it. but for you and the thread i'd say to do your best, be good, search for good times, and for the good ladies also be kind to them.0 -
You asked someone to be your bridesmaid. You pay for the dress/shoes/bag/make-up/hair/nails. However, you choose all of these items:eek:
TBH I would sack her by one of three ways
1/ Tell her the truth of what a pain she is. You're fairly likely to upset her doing it this way
2/ Tell her that your OH really wants his Sister to be BM and you don't really want to upset the family
3/ Explain how you feel (but don't tell her the entire truth) letting her down nice and gently.0
