Could the sales person who made the call initially, take the OP to court for their own data protection (or whatever) and claim the loss of their job and loss of earnings, due to the OP recording the call to use against them, without their knowledge?

I must add though, I think this is either a) a scam, b) the OP being fobbed off or c) BS.

I would certainly agree with b and c and probably c is likely ;)

    Well Doubters,

Todays post consisted of 1 x cheque from the Company in question Together with a very appologetic letter.

As stated I do not have anything to prove to any of you doubters, my post is intended for others who are plauged by these vermin and when they confront them and also receive the same abuse that I did to go down the route that I have and help put a stop to this disgraceful pratice of being very hostile when confronted with the fact that you are registered with the TPS and do not require cold calls of this nature.

I know, and the best thing for me to do will be to ignore them.

They do annoy you though as I am merely trying to show others that putting up with calls like these is simply unacceptable.

Well done. I certainly was one of the doubters. So not all tele sales companies are the dubious firms many think. Good result, wish you all the best.

Quite agree with the last line .......However I find it very hard to understand why a company would go to the lengths you describe and reward you with a compensation payment but apply a gagging order to it.

Usualy when a company rectifies a situation they are quite happy to receive recognition for it and some even shout it from the rooftops ;)
The facts that you don't want to mention the names of the company, the director, the people you spoke to, the nature of the call, the phone number which called etc etc all add to the smoke screen I'm afraid.

Sorry to say at the moment I feel theres more romance in this thread than a Cathrine Cookson novel :rotfl:

Am sick to death of these idiots calling me so put my plan into action and have started recording the calls I receive, anyway gets a call today and the girl on the other line decided to be an argumentative little scrote, so I as I explained data protection and being on the TPS she was unphased and started to verbaly abuse me, and called me an effin idiot while laughing with colleuges all good as being recorded,

So having the recording and the actual phone number I went back and spoke to the Director of the Company who has informed me that this idiot was dismissed with an immediate effect and offered me a cheque for £250.00 as a gesture of goodwill, I do hope its her wages.

Wow, well done - did you tell them that you were recording?

To what I remember, it's illegal if you don't declare that calls are being recorded...

You remember wrong as has already been stated in the thread.

Why can't people read before posting.
