Revenge on a UK cold caller

My little tape just earned me £250.00 for suffering a whole load of verbal abuse and being told I am an effin idiot down the phone, the actual Director whom I played it back to was not concerned with the fact that it may or may not be legal to record the call he was more than annoyed that someone who represented his Company could act in such an discusting manner.
And has assured me they were sacked on the spot and also could not appologise enough to me.
Jamespir, I dont have to prove nothing to you as quite simply I do not like you as much as you do not like me so we will leave it there.
sorry but thats rubbish there is absolutely no way they would sack someone straight away on the basis of your recording they record there own calls there would be an investigation
and theres no way they 'd give you a cheque for 250 quid
ive worked within the telecoms industry so i know a bit how they work
as for your little thing about not posting cause they not honour the cheque that bulls as well they would not do that on a conditional bases
oh and im not sure where you got the impression i dont like you from
i dont have a problem with youReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -
Does anyone smell anything... ?Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug).0

Am sick to death of these idiots calling me so put my plan into action and have started recording the calls I receive, anyway gets a call today and the girl on the other line decided to be an argumentative little scrote, .......................................
You can't have got a cheque yet ...if you ever do ...and how come this was sorted out today with all the implications of a gagging order etc. It's not just about the money0 -
Whatever, I know what has happened and yep they could well have told me she was sacked on the spot and quite possibly may not have done so, as for employment law she could have been on a final warning for all you or I know, and theres a thing call gross misconduct, instance sacking, as for all done and dusted oviously I dont have the cheque in my hand as it has been wrote and posted today, as for gagging order its a type of one, if you agree a gesture of goodwill with any company they can add terms to that such as not revealing there name and any details surrounding the issue,
And Jamespir, right you may reckon you have knowledge of the telecomms industry, but so do I and I have been dealing with Company's in this field for a few years now so have a fair idea of how things work, some Company's look to resolve issues forthwith and as this was a straight forward case with clear and concise details given to them and backed up by there own recording they did act very quick it was done in the space of 4-5 hours, barr receiving a cheque.0 -
As far as I know recording phonecalls without informing the caller that it is being recorded is illegal.
Will the OP get a cheque or was that just a ploy to get his name and address so that they will know where to send the summons to?
Let us know how you get on.0 -

Your knowledge is incorrect. There was a link posted above that you could have checked.
Thanks for the link. .
It says that you can record the call if it is for your own use and when you do not make it available to a third person. It also says that if you are in doubt you should seek legal advice.
OP did replay recording to another person, the manager, and as a result the original caller allegedely got the sack. Maybe another person within the same company is not a "third person". A lawyer could answer that one. Any lawyers about? I know there are several who frequent this forum.0 -
I suggest you repost when you've actually got the cheque in your hand-I won't be holding my breath.
If this is true, please can you post the company name, as I would like them to call me-I think I can put up with a few minutes of verbal abuse in return for £250...No free lunch, and no free laptop0
