Desperately need a break

I really need to get away for a few days but am unsure of where to go. not due at work til sat so potentially could go tommorow or even tonight and come back friday.
the reason I've got to get away is because I am sick to the back teeth of this house. I look after our toddler all day and all I do is walk round picking up mess to find it out again 10 mins later, my day revolves around his mealtimes and what he wants to do. I bought him a baking set to give us something to do and we went to the shop to get some eggs. the shop is less than a minute walk from the house, but he wanted to walk up the next road so something which should have taken a few minutes took more than thirty. I've hoovered the carpet 4 times today cos he keeps dropping crumbs on it. his chest of drawers caved under the weight of my husband constantly leaving the drawers pulled out so I've had to shell out over a £100 for a new set which won't come for 3 weeks so theres clothes all over the place.
he wet my bed so I can't put the bedding on while it's airing out and had to wash the bedding.
my friend called a stray cat over to us a few nights ago which stroked itself over my ankles then I woke up the next day with several flea bites so had to set off a flea bomb last night, which my husband was angry about and said he didnt see the point and that it stunk, when actually i think he was more bothered that he couldnt sit on the xbox for the 2 hours we had to vacate the room. my son spilt drink over the sofa so I've had to wash all the sofa covers.
I usually do 2 loads of washing a day, I do everyone's washing ironing cooking cleaning and I'm sick of doing it day in day out. if someone came round they wouldnt believe me if I told them how much cleaning i did cos the house is always a tip.
my husband is very unsupportive about this and tells me "yeah well i work full time" and we go round in circles - but today I've had enough and need to get out of this house. I dont have any family local - and I'm not close to them anyway.
we live in the midlands, can anyone suggest somewhere I can take him for a few days so we can have a nice couple of days away from this? I fear its affecting him too.
thanks in advance.

I can't drive either so we would have to get trains or public transport to wherever we do go x0

What sort of budget would you be looking at?
Eurostar offer quite a lot of cheap tickets to Paris and Brussels if you don't mind getting the train/coach down to London.
There's a Centreparc around Nottingham and sometimes they offer cheap late-deal accomodation so maybe that would be worth checking out? Standard rates are pretty high though and late rates will likely depend on how desperate they are to fill up.0 -
Are you planning a break for yourself or with the OH and toddler or just with toddler?0

thanks for the replies. I am taking him to eurodisney next month so wouldnt think france, I am open to the idea of hopping on a plane but I guess for 2 days I wouldnt really want to pay more than £500. we live near east midlands airport so if we could jump on a plane in the wee hours that would be good i'd happily go and sit by a pool for 2 days with him!
he's 3 so a bit young for centreparcs but i think they're pretty pricey anyway.
i'd love one thanks tod, got any in your private room?!0 -
If I were you I would get on a train to the seaside, find a little B&B and have a couple of days break. You really sound like you need to recharge your batteries. Have fun what ever you decide to do, sod the washing, ironing etc.0

I believe that East Midlands operate a Nottingham to Newquay domestic flight so you could head down to Cornwall for a weekend? There's quite a variety of places in Cornwall that could be nice and relaxed and the weather is usually quite good but the ocean breezes help keep cooler.0

When hubby comes home tonight go out for a while, go do something just for you. Go grab some 'me' time. The best thing you can spend on a child, is time.0

Could Jersey be another option? FlyBE definitely fly from Birmingham to Jersey. Not sure about East Midlands to Jersey.
Here's a website for keeping children entertained in Jersey so you can see whether there's anything your son would like - http://www.i-love-jersey.co.uk/children-in-jersey.html0
