Following on from my previous post, I made my normal daily phone call to the Barclays 'Team' today and was basically told that as I have been paid (I have never received the cheque or letter allegedly posted on the 17th November) that Barclays will treat this as low priority because as far as they are concerned then I have been paid, they are concentrating on the backlog of people who haven't been paid at all. I was told that I will not be paid this now until at least after Christmas - probably January but more likely - February.
Up until today,I have always been very polite on the phone to them but today after hearing that news then I'm afraid that the worm turned.
I am fortunate that I'm not relying on this money coming in to my account so I'm not unduly concerned when I receive it but there is now a price that Barclays will pay for treating me like a total and utter scum bag.
As I am not far off retirement then I have certain plans made in which Barclays were going to play a significant part of - not any more though. The plans will (are) being changed and they will not be receiving a single penny from what would have been a significant amount of money over a given relative short period of time.
I will now not lower myself by phoning them anymore, they can go and do whatever they want with the money they owe me, it will arrive at some stage. I really don't care any more about Barclays or come to think of it, any of the high street banks but Barclays in particular for treating me this way. How dare they.
I will now get on with my life like I used to do before this started and start enjoying myself by treating Barclays the same way they have just treated me today.
I'm going to enjoy this.0 -

I emailed him after a rejection (final offer), more out of anger than anything else. Barclays are only bank not to pay me back.
Got the standard "we've passed it on" email confirming receipt, but not expecting anything to change. Felt better for writing it though.0 -

I was told a cheque had been sent on 16th November earlier this week. Naturally, myself and the advisor were concerned it hadn't arrived so we initiated a process to cancel and reissue it.
The cheque arrived yesterday and that process apparently hadn't been started.
Turns out the LETTER had been created but the creation of the cheque and the actual posting wasn't until the 30th November.
Suspect it may be with you soon if a similar situation has occurred.0 -

I am so pleased for you that you have received your cheque - that's great news!! Alas I think my cheque may have already been cancelled but I can't be sure of that but your story does mean that it has taken 3 weeks or so to reach you so maybe Mine will arrive shortly too!0 -

I hope it does.
A few days ago I was feeling as you do now. You simply want it in your possession and ultimately as cash in the bank. I'm hopeful you'll have it very soon.0 -
Well, after writing them a letter yesterday, my redress was paid into my account today. End of.0

Hi FeelStupid, you should receive a call within 48 hours from sending the email to Barclays. I sent my email last Friday complaining, Phone call on Monday and Funds transferred into my account on Wednesday. Funny how a kick up the backside works! Keep the faith!0 -
Never received a phone call here?!0
