Are you in regular contact with Barclays or are you sitting back waiting to see what happens?

I am phoning Customer Relations every day but all they can say is that they will send a message to the refund team and they don't know when it will be paid out. They basically know as much as I do

You too. This is incredibly frustrating
  • Thanks for the info. I've not bothered chasing them so far because they have met every deadline they've given me. Looks like this one is doubtful though. Out of interest do you bank with Barclays? I'm wondering if that will make any difference to timescales. On the PPI successes thread a few people have had payment into their bank accounts without prior notice. Since I've closed my account with them they don't have that option.

Well, if I was p****d off before, it was nothing to how I am now :mad::mad:

After numerous phone calls to Customer Relations and just being told that my claim was being looked at and I would have my agreed money soon (was up to 53 days from date of acceptance yesterday), I decided to email Bob Diamond as others have. I did this on Tuesday and fair enough I had a letter waiting for me at home yesterday.

Basically, the letter said "thank you for your email blah blah blah, unfortunately when your offer letter was sent out one of our advisors closed your complaint by error which meant that when your acceptance forms came in there was nothing to suggest they needed actioning. Unfortunately, the time period for the original calculations has elapsed and we have therefore had to resend revised forms for you to sign and return as soon as possible."

Obviously I was now fuming and was straight on to Customer Relations and without even an apology was just told that I needed to send the new forms back and my claim would be looked at straight away. I then asked if I would have to wait another 40 days for payment and was told definitely no and I would have payment 7-10 working days from when the forms are received.

In a way, I am now glad that I know what the delay was and that something is now happening, but what is really annoying me is the fact that I phoned Customer Relations pretty much every day for the last 3-4 weeks and was told every time that my refund was on the system and just waiting to be issued. Why did it take an email to Bob Diamond to get somebody to check this and realise that they had messed up???

My advice for people that have gone over the 40 day limit would be to get them to check if this has happened to you because they will just let it drag on unless you push it

    Hi
This is my first time on here so i hope i have done this right
I'm now 2 weeks over my 40 working days payout and everything you've said has been the same for me :mad: .Could you tell me who is Bob Diamond? what is his email address? and what you put in your email? Really don't want to ring customer relations again
    Thanks:smiley:

An email address for Bob would be great if you can post it please. My partner who is phoning up Customer Relations every day spoke to a supervisor on Friday who told him that a meeting was being called because there are so many unhappy people waiting for their money but I would rather do something this end than wait for them to contact us. Hope everyone gets sorted soon.

Good advice, thanks. I've not phoned them yet because I thought there'd be no point but you're right, how do we know that we're moving up the queue to be dealt with? There are posts on the PPI successes forum that show payouts for claims that have gone in as recently as August when mine goes back to June so it does make you wonder.
