Sorry to hear about your tiff. You want different things out of a holiday but I don't see why either one of you needs to compromiise.
Is there any reason why you can't hang onto the wagon and let OH make his own way home if he's had enough after 3 days? It will be no fun with OH if he's being a mardy-pants, if there's something specific he wants to do at home with his A/L I would let him get on with it on his own. Like wallpapering the spare rooom, for example.

Tell him you'll drive him back home then you and the little one will drive back again, he'll soon want to stay because of the petrol! If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0

Has he given a reason why he thinks 3 days is enough? Can you afford to "holiday" longer? Is he a "home" bird? Sorry to ask questions but I can't see what his reasons are for his decision.0

OH has taken refuge in the bedroom because he is sick of hearing my voice, sick of me and refuse to talk about it anymore.

We are off tomorrow half way across country for 3 days!
So if you're off tomorrow, surely you (he?) decided on the 3 days ages ago, or is this a last minute change of mind to only go for 3 days?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
