Maybe you should forget the shouting and try sitting down talking instead!

This trip is 2 days away (?), you obviously knew where you were going and how long for - well planned BTW. Why all the storm in a teacup now rather than earlier on?

FWIW, my DH is off for the next fortnight with me. Can't really justify a holiday financially at the mo but children will all be away for a few days so will get a break. I would do 172 miles for 2 nights/3 days.

Its not the mileage thats the issue for me its the fact that only the hubby seems to get any say in the decisions. I think Id either be having a major paddy or aiming something at his head...... certainly would not be giving in on this one. Its meant to be a family holiday.

Mmmm I think I would be booking (with his card) something for me and little un to do while he is away with the brother. 2 days when you can afford - financially and timewise - more is either tight or selfish....

    Just my opinion of course...

You're saying it was all planned together, so you knew from the beginning that it was going to be 3 days. After so much careful planning, checking, booking a 2 nights trip because you are financially stretched, I can see why he's a bit miffed at your wanting to stay longer and improvise all of a sudden! It's unreasonable in my opinion. I think you're the one throwing the paddy here tbh, and you are very close to ruining the holiday for everybody!
