I'm completely flexible with dates and happy to go from London, Manchester or Glasgow (Glasgow preferred) preferably a bit later in the year so I can save some spending money.
I don't think that how long you stay makes a difference so much as what period and over what dates (i.e. if it includes a holiday period or particularly busy days).
Since you are really flexible on where you fly from, you may want to look into the Fare Watcher from travelocity.com (doesn't appear on the .co.uk website, but if you put in details from the UK it will quote in GBP)...you can set any number of options for departure cities and ask that it email you when the price goes below £XXX.
Details are here:

We will only fly direct and we think that anything under £400 is a reasonable deal...anything under £350 is a good deal...and anything under £300 is ohmygodbookitnowbookitnow!Sorry, but not really sure on indirect flights...as some have shown before, if you wait until the last minute you can sometimes get some major bargains...I'm not one who can handle that waiting game personally, but works for some!
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
as posted on page one, this forum can help with identifying those Priceline and Hotwire hotels

sorry but i would not call NY NY far out by any definition. Crossroads of the World intersection with Tropicanna is very much in the thick of the action IMO.
also had a email from Travelaxe. thier program can now be used on web site without the need to download the program

"has anyone stayed at the imperial palace?
At the moment it is the same price as the Strat but it is centre of the strip.
Out of the two which would you go for? "
Hi I found the Strat to make me feel very claustrophobic. I have walked down the strip to the Strat but it is one heck of a walk and you miss out on all the action all night in the strip because you sure won't walk back to the strip twice. Buses are cheap and plentiful and run very late tho. Why don't you find out the hotel 800 numbers by looking them up on the net and phone them direct. I have stayed in many hotels in Vegas as I lived within driving distance in Canada. My favourite is the Flamingo Hilton a bit in need of painting but the best swimming pool ever. I have had rooms in the Flamingo Hilton in August for $20 a night and ones in other ones for $12 a night in January. I have phoned them up and asked them to give me their best prices. I also sign up in any of the hotels I breeze through and they send you discounts in the mail. The January cheap rates I got from them sending me mail with the special prices, it was at the Riviera hotel ,not great but for that price for 5 people we did not care. Anyway hope this helps but I would definately go for the Imperial Palace. I have stayed in it but when it was an old run down thing many years ago. Flamingo Hilton used to be down the other end of the strip on it's own but with all the new hotels opening up there it is now one of the most central.
I have stayed in Circus Circus and was great when I had the 4 children would not stay in it now tho for anything. Too many of other people's children screaming around. Also a very scruffy part of the strip now the hotels around there very run down. Good luck and do not forget to read all the free newspapers around when in Vegas as there are often 2 for 1 buffet coupons in there and some free comedy shows also and 2 for 1 of some of the lesser known shows. MyTravel seem to offer cheap flights.
Whats the catch?. Is it you get what you pay for no frills. I notice that meals cost extra. For an 11hour flight would it be possible to take food on board with you? I ask due to security issues. Would I also be able to take drinks on?
Can anyone vouch for My Travel?0 -

Food can be taken onto flights - drinks can but they must be purchased landside at the airport. Never used My TRavel, have a look on https://www.airlinequality.com0 -

I have booked a week for the end of may 2007, seems to be a very busy week (why?? 20-27th), still hoping to use the $20 trick to get upgrades at the Sahara, Palms and Bellagio. Does anybody know the best times to check-in? Hotels do say 3:00pm but wondered if it would be better to check in earlier0
