Those mytravel flight prices looked good...I hope they'll be similar next year! I'm planning on going the end of April 2008...my 30th wedding anniversary but I've started looking now to "get a feel" of what to do, when to book etc so any tips would be appreciated.

    where are you flying from?

    Manchester.

being pretty much in the dead center of the UK ( the Geographical center is in a field a mile or 2 up the road) i,m lucky in that London airports and Manchester ect are all well within reach.

avoid school holidays be able to fly mid week and Keep you eyes open, Basically by doing frequent searches and be ready to swoop when you find a price you are prepared to pay. i would expect a Xmas / Jan sale from Virgin again and probably BMI .

where are you wanting / able to fly from??

Virgin and BMI have sales but you need to keep putting your dates in to either the BMI site, Virgin site , airline network , or My Travel on regular basis . keep you eyes on Travel supplements in sunday newspapers as well.

download the sale alert program from the Virgin Atlantic website as well , so you will be notified as soon as the sale is announced

i saw the BMI offer on tuesday evening , booked on wednesday morning, it was gone on Thursday.

    like Ferf1223 has said
We will only fly direct and we think that anything under £400 is a reasonable deal...anything under £350 is a good deal...and anything under £300 is ohmygodbookitnowbookitnow

top photos again Photome . i could spend hours watching the Bellagio fountains . hence i want to try and stay at Paris for a view like that !! or if i can find the right deal a lakeview room at the Bellagio itself !!!

i Love the conservatory as well , i recommend anyone going for the first time to take it in.they had a Butterfly theme when we took this

Well , firstly being a bit of a poker fan I have to do a few tourneys!!
The new casino poker rooms in the Planet Hollywood/Aladdin are looking nice so will start there.

good call... i,m a massive poker fan myself.

this site ( if you have not already found it ) has full list of all tourneys on the strip and Downtown. and full reviews of all the Poker rooms.

    http://www.allvegaspoker.com/

i printed out the full Tourney list for reference while out there .so can quickly shoot off and play when the OH fancys a nap / early night ect

    http://www.allvegaspoker.com/tournaments.php

TI ( definatly) and Paris ( i think) were ring games only when i was there so looks like there is more choice than a year ago

    liked
MGM Grand ( also have sit and gos but the wait can be long)
Binions ( well you have too play there don,t you)

fav though the LUXOR for the friendlyness, the reasonable buy in and the start times...... 4pm tourney ideal for me .. and the quality of the other players (ie no WSOP entrants ). nothing special about the room and probably not many other peoples top room ..but it worked for me

    did not like

    Venetian ( way too posh)
Mandalay bay ( only got in once !! sells out really really quick but great poker room in brilliant setting )

too scared to venture in Mirage or Bellagio or Wynn rooms . just too rich for my game !.

hope you have more luck than me last time ( made the money once out of about a dozen entries !!! terrible by my local casino standards / returns )
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Should be okay for London and Manchester flights then. keep your eyes open and i will try to remember you if i come across any offers worth considering ;) .

Virgin (Gatwick) and BMI (Manchester) both have evening before (AKA twilight) check ins. definatly going to be using that service again in Dec.

I have booked a week for the end of may 2007, seems to be a very busy week (why?? 20-27th), still hoping to use the $20 trick to get upgrades at the Sahara, Palms and Bellagio. Does anybody know the best times to check-in? Hotels do say 3:00pm but wondered if it would be better to check in earlier
You want to offer $20 to get a better room for a week at the Bellagio:eek:
The check-in staff just look down at their monitors if you offer them money, just won't take it. I offered $100 for a weeks upgrade and felt quite uncomfortable when she just took my CC and pushed the money back to me.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

like Photome has said you need to be realistic and have a idea what your asking for.

a deluxe room to a deluxe lake view room is not a big jump and might work, but if you where trying get a upgrade from lake view it,s a massive price hike to a suite .
