Missed My Travel / Airtours out of Manchester and in summer Glasgow.I would NEVER fly on such a long flight with MYT, they are an EVIL airline....
how much does it cost to cosy up to the monster then ??? £100 , £200, £300 saving per person ????
for me personally the flight is a means to ends, i don't enjoy any of them to anywhere very much. so why pay loads extra is my thinking. i,m still going to be unhappy , but i suffer less with a few hundred $$$$ extra in my pocket to spend at the other end.
10 + hours is a long time on any plane, if your not in upper class ect ( not thati have ever been in upper class you understand)
. personally i try to get seats at the back where the airplane narrows from 3 to 2 seats on the side. our last flight with Air Transat in these seats was excellent outward and return .only problem is if you are disembarked from the front of the plane you are first on - last off , and will have a longish wait at Border control.
i never go for a window seat unless i know who is sitting in the aisle. always go for aisle if given the choice IMO.

weekly Mytravel price check ( previous prices in brackets )
tomorrow = £169 (£199 last week)
1 week (2.5.07) = £209 (£324 last week)
2 weeks (9.5.07) = £236
1 month (23.5.07) = £315
2 months (20.6.07) = £385
3 months (18.7.07) = £447
6 months (24.10.07) =£447Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
With our miles plus money deal it actually CHEAPER for us to fly with Virgin than MYT. Our flights work out about half price!
We are paying about £1200 for us both to go prem econ, as opposed to the £2200 it costs without using miles. :TUndefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

Wow trets, thank a lot. Does that mean that the best time to book is closer to the time, but not too close? Any tips?Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0

I have booked a week for the end of may 2007, seems to be a very busy week (why?? 20-27th), still hoping to use the $20 trick to get upgrades at the Sahara, Palms and Bellagio. Does anybody know the best times to check-in? Hotels do say 3:00pm but wondered if it would be better to check in earlier
From the Las Vegas Convention Calendar for your period:
INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF SHOPPING CENTERS LAS VEGAS CONVENTION CENTER 05/21/2007 05/23/2007 45,000 attendees
INTEROP LAS VEGAS 2007 MANDALAY BAY CONVENTION CENTER 05/20/2007 05/25/2007 20,000 attendees
XANGO, LLC VENETIAN, THE 05/25/2007 05/26/2007 4,000 attendees
AMERICAN PAYROLL ASSOCIATION PARIS LAS VEGAS 05/22/2007 05/26/2007 3,900 attendees
ISA INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY CONFERENCE AND TRADE FAIR MANDALAY BAY CONVENTION CENTER 05/20/2007 05/23/2007 2,000 attendees
HAY HOUSE I CAN DO IT! CONFERENCE SANDS EXPO CENTER 05/17/2007 05/20/2007 1,500 attendees
So that's 75,000+ conventioneers in town to start - plus lots of smaller conferences of a few hundred each...also, that Monday (28th May) is a bank holiday in the US (Memorial Day) so lots of people will have 3-day weekends.
You can always try to check in early- you may get lucky....it can't hurt, anyway...you can leave your bags with the bell desk if the room isn't ready.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

 wdyw tips are what you should be looking at for my Travel , i,m trying to see if a pattern can be established. may come to nothing and prove a waste of time :undecided ..but costs only time to do it. see posts #38 and #310 for wdyw tips.Well ive finally booked it!!... posted by bazlovejoy
finally done it as well and ...I have booked our flights
Flying BMI direct on the 13th Dec for 7 nights stay .....£292 each ( looks like it has now gone up £20 from when i booked this morning so i,m well chuffed)
i may have jumped the gun and got a better price later on but i am very happy with this price so have swooped .:T :T . collecting the BMI miles to my account as well was a nice bonus .
also got great seats (outward and return) reserved and booked up at the same time for no extra charge .
only downside is the dates as i now have no Annual leave left unless i take leiu days for bank holiday working (unlikely as i am OT money grabber )... but Vegas is worth it !!!!Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
great news, Trets! Seems like a good deal on the flights as well - really glad you're able to make it this year as I know you were unsure for awhile.
Bet you're excited.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
