:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: he was not about when we showed up at The Little White Wedding Chapel...but we would have used him if he was available. i like Cheesy
:cheesy: :cheesy:
had "Ava Maria" on the Organ instead.
classy aren't i ??   erm probably not
I would definitely get one if I knew he was going to be a good one, but knowing my luck he will be the crappest Elvis in Vegas and it will be a laughing stock. I am hopefully going to pull together 3 songs on a CD that mean something to me and the hubbie to be as we can have this instead of the organ and music they play!0 -
This thread is so useful thanks everyone - I will definitely be getting me a Post Office card - fo they have an interest free period on purchases? Just thinking about when to get in comparison to wedding and honeymoon!0

I ve read loads about this $20 trick, what is it about please? Is it just certain hotels?0

i noticed this morning in the "Dial -a- flight" advert in the Sunday Travel supplement Vegas flights for £148.
price was the My travel flight this Wednesday . Don't know if Tax was included , ???
but might be worth a phone call to them should if you see a good deal on My Travel to see if they can beat it as well as trying Airtours

$20 trick is basically trying to get a free or discounted upgrade from the check in person . probably less likely to work at say the Bellagio or Wynn ( due to price of actually upgrading) . ask about on these forums for specific hotels

$20 Trick is just about getting an upgrade for a $20 tip instead of the true cost.
It has worked for me more times than not.
I get to the desk, smile at clerk, a bit of general chat, while holding a $20 bill in my hand so they can see it, I ask if they have any complimentary upgrades and will then usually tell them what I am looking for, ie strip view, high floor, newly remodelled room, or any combination of those.
It pays to do some research to find out what type of rooms the hotel you are staying in has.
Checck out https://www.frontdesktip.com
Lists hotels and the likelyhood of getting an upgrade0 -
quite fancy the Mandalay Bay but found a few forums/list of conventions and that seems to be a popular place for them so might be busy for rooms etc
check out the convention date calander.

Truth is there is always something going on in town, a convention, a boxing match, WS of Poker , a public holiday the list goes on and on . it's what Vegas is all about and thats how they can achieve 90% ish occupancy rate with the large majority of the 10 largest hotels in the world on the same street.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
we want to go from 28 December - 5th January but new years eve is REALLY pushing up hotel prices. Planet Hollywood is reasonable but NYE is $500 alone!!!
If we use pricelines name your price can we choose an area of the strip or could we potentially be stuck as far out as New York New York or Stratosphere?? Last year my brother booked it for us and we ended up in Excalibur for NYE and MGM for the following week, but since we are going before NYE this time we dont want to have to go to one hotel, change for 1 night then go back again! lol
Any ideas/comments are most welcome!

someone posted this new website for Vegas promotions over at lasvegastalk.com
http://www.vegas-promotions.com/
It's searchable by hotel, end date of promotion, etc...which makes it quite nifty...I don't have the patience to wade through the posts at fatwallet, etc...but this I like! This is great - thank you!
Thanks a lot everyone for posting this site! Finally a site that has all of these promotions organized! This is greatDefinitely going into my favorites.:T

Try here for info on bidding on Priceline.

Read the rules of how you post for bidding assistance as they are quite touchy about their format (because they need specific info to help). My understanding is that you can specify an area and have a good idea what the hotel options are, but not always...but I don't think you can specify a part of the strip, and sometimes the hotels in the Strip category are a bit off the strip. The only exception I am aware of is the 5* Strip category - if you have a bid accepted in that category, it will be Bellagio or Venetian. But those people know their stuff and should be able to advise you.
Personally, I would not think that you would have a lot of luck that time of the year as all the hotels will sell out...so they really don't have much incentive to accept offers that time of year. I would book something you can live with now (through the hotel so you can cancel if you can find something better) and I would just check the links to the promotions websites that have been posted here starting in September or so and keep checking.
But hey, Priceline scares the bejesus out of me - so maybe I'm missing out.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Hi guys,
From what i can see, I need to sort the flights and then the hotels will be easy to sort out. I've been before and stayed at Caesars, booked it all via Expedia and flight was AA connecting in Chicago but all went as planned.
What sort of price is reasonable for a flight to LV? Does it change based on how long I stay? I'm not sure if we'd be looking at 1 week or 2.
I'm completely flexible with dates and happy to go from London, Manchester or Glasgow (Glasgow preferred) preferably a bit later in the year so I can save some spending money.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0
