Why not consider flying Dublin to London and then direct to Vegas?
I am going to guess at some prices but dub to london £50, lon to Vegas at most £450..I am paying £280 in march..and then th Paris Would prob be available at around $100 per night per room (£50). thats £25 per person a night based on 2 sharing.

On my prices that is at least £100 saving per person, possibly more.

Having said that the signature at MGM is better than the other three by far and usually costs more, so that may be a good deal.

Caesers palace is next best but some of the rooms are small (in Vegas terms)

Paris and Planet hollywood are similar, I love the PH resort rooms which can sometimes be had with a $20 tip at check in.

I dont think that you will find anyone on here that would advocate doing a package, it is usually cheaper to book flights and accom seperate.
Sorry we are going for a week 22/5 The flight from Dub Is £398 - £400 and couldnt really see the accomodation any cheaper at the minute on its own . Unless we book just the flight and then see if there are any deals later on. I would maybe be a bit nervous doing this, just in case.....
Would anyone else recommend the Signature at MGM over the other 3 , not that I am doubting you. Just wqant to be sure which one ? they all seem to have good reviews on Tripadvisor.....

i have yet to see a bad review of The Signature , if it were me with thoose choices at thoose prices , it,s would be the one i would book.. no question.

wdyw was impressed earlier this year and he strikes me as man who knows a good room in Vegas when he sees it.

if your okay with indirect flights the prices quoted for Mid May aren,t too bad . you could probably shave a few $$$ if you booked everythying seperate but , but if you want security and certainty of a package i think you could do worse and extra £100 or so might not so diificult to shell out.
i'm trying not to book anything in advance if i don't have to and wonder whether anyone has bought phantom tickets (venetian) from the half-price ticket booths? any idea of what the lowest prices might be for good seats?

Ferf has seen them in the Half price outlets. i hope they will be available as i,m planning on searching them out in 5 weeks . if you do go for half price tickets you will maybe have to have lower quality seats as they will obvsoiusly filll best with people paying full price. if you want guarnteed good seats you pay the premium for it

either way you will be best to wait till you get there IMO , most resident shows only really sell out at weekends and /or very busy periods.
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

I see trets agrees about the Signature.

As for booking seperate as opposed to a package..this is a money saving site and I always try to do things as cheap as possible while balancing the quality, which is why I would never book a package.

I have flights booked for March but as yet no accomodation and it isnt worrying me yet!!

We now prefer the Signature over Bellagio or Venetian. (still haven't used the WYNN!!!). It may not be everybodys cup of tea though. It does require a fair bit of walking to get to the strip from it and it is a bit far towards the south end to be ideal but the rooms are excellent as our the staff and the peace of the place compared to the cattle markets

We came back from the Signature a few weeks ago and it was absolutely incredible. Immaculate rooms which are big and airy and the bathroom was just incredible! Huge jacuzzi bath and a shower that we got 8 people in (all fully clothed I might add!)
The only downside is the walk from the tower to the MGM but its not that bad as we were in tower 2 in the upper penthouse. Our room had fabulous views of the strip and the mountains too with the added bonus of a little kitchen to keep bottled water and snacks cool and they have nice coffee in the rooms.
All the staff were very helpful and we had excellent service for the whole stay, even when we rang them to say we had left the coffee pot on and would they mind turning it off!

I haven't stayed in the other hotels but I would heartily recommend the Signature to anyone :D

Little tip, don't walk all the way through MGM Grand (this way takes ages), just walk out the back way on to E Harmon Ave, turn left then you're on the Strip within a few minutes, right by Planet Hollywood, Paris and Bellagio.

    Much quicker !!

Main reason we ended up doing this is because all our friends were in various other hotels or parts of the MGM so it was easier to meet by the Lion in the foyer ;)
  • Thanks for your replies. Im off to check out the reviews for Signature at MGM
Dont mind Dublin to jfk and then on to vegas as i think its better than one long flight....i hope so anyway....
cant wait to get to vegas now. Think i will book the flights and hang on for accomodation

We just returned from Las Vegas and thought I'd share some of the money saving things we found and used.

Free tickets to Mac King, The Mentalist and the afternoon Comedy Show at Mandalay Bay are all being given out at various points on the strip (near Hawian Market). Didn't have time to see any of these shows, but have seen Mac King before and found him entertaining and the reviews for the Mentalist on at Hooters were good. To all shows you had to buy one drink.

What's on in Vegas magazine included a 2 for 1 buffet voucher for the Silverton Casino. It is off strip but we found the buffet excellent and liked the Silverton.

The $2.50 dollar 24hour off strip bus pass was great. We stayed off strip as I like a hotel where I can turn off the aircon and open the windows. We therefore used this pass to go to and from the strip, downtown, to the airport, to outlet malls etc. The bus from the airport to off strip hotels and downtown was great.

We also got free trips to Laughlin and Primm (via Mytravel but you need to ask the rep as they don't tell you about it), including buffet lunches. We were in Vegas for 14 days so we found these trips a nice break, as both places have shopping outlets and the air is a bit fresher.

    Hope these tips help someone.
