Las Vegas 2007 bargain hunt + tips

Hi All

Here's a challenge for all you Las Vegas fans!

We will be in Vegas in 10 days time and I wondered if there are any English Premier League games shown live? I particularly want to watch Birmingham City beat Aston Villa on Sunday 11th November at 1.00pm - which I believe is 6.00am Vegas time.

I thought as a lot of "Sporting" betting takes place in Vegas, one of the sports themed casino's might show the game.

Any help would be appreciated.

As Ferf says the Crown and Anchor is the one that always comes up when this question is asked.

Just wanted to add that I have never seen any premiership football in any sportsbooks (where they do the sports betting in the casinos) when I have been in Vegas. I dont think they are big on footbal, I cant remember even seeing any soccer matches

Anyone thinking of Vegas this winter might want to consider using Maxjet's 30 day advance purchase deal from STN. I got 2 business class return flights for under £700 each. Thats not bad considering Virgin's premium economy is currently more than double that on the same dates!

Thanks ferf. I don't think we'll make it much before 9.30pm as we're going to see Legends in Concert at the Imperial Palace before the meal and it doesn't finish until 9pm.

We're off to Vegas in the morning and I'm both excited and nervous! I absolutely hate the flight; not because I'm scared, I just hate being stuck in that metal tube for 10-1/2 hours. I don't read books and don't watch films, although I do try to just to pass the time.

I know I shouldn't, but I get in that seat and don't move for the whole flight, not even to go to the toilet. The longer I can sleep the better. Will be wearing my flight socks and hope that's enough to keep a DVT a bay.

Don't go breaking the site again in my absence!

It's killing me because we could go November 7, 8 or 9...but the website is currently not working, AND I took all my credit cards out of my purse LAST NIGHT to keep them safe in the house until holiday (once had a purse stolen a week before holiday and am now paranoid) AND we have no internet connection at home at the moment as BT hasn't sorted out a problem with our phone line!

Hoping that my husband has his cards with him and the site is working again soon as we would love to see Ka at 1/2 off! I know it's 'up to 1/2 off' but can't see exactly what the discount is for our dates right now as the website is down...very frustrating all around!

Hi everyone - wonder if anyone can assist?
Since the MyTravel/Airtours site was "down for maintenance" last week I am now unable to do a "Flight Only" search from either the mytravel site or airtours site (which means I cant keep my daily eye on Vegas flight only prices). If/When I have been lucky enought to get to a "flight only" page "Las Vegas" is no longer an option... I notice that iltisman (above) made a comment on the merger - anyone else had any problems?
Trets - I know that you do daily/weekly searches at My Travel - any advice?

I thought it may be my pop up blocker, but I have switched this off and still not joy. I sometimes get a "blank.com" page.... Does anyone have any suggestions or am I simply missing something?

I think T Cook are starting to phase out the Airtours\Mytravel brand and are going to absorb MYTs routes and aircraft into the TCook airlines fleet. The best way of checking on the Vegas flights is on T Cooks own website.

Well - it doesnt look good at the moment! I have tried searching flight only to Vegas from Manchester on Thomas Cooks own website and they dont advertise the My Travel Airline on their site (just the normal Delta, Continental/BMI flights - all pay in full at time of booking).
I have tried both MyTravel and Airtours again to no avail. I have also tried other search engines that usually offer the My Travel flight from Manchester to Vegas and its not their either.

I am gutted - if the MyTravel/Airtours flights disappear then there will definately NOT be an option of paying £150 to secure the flight and pay the deposit 56 days before departure. This is devastating news. If I wasnt at work I would be ringing MyTravel to see what the score is, but they take an AGE to answer their lines.

Has anyone else come across this? I truly hope I am being a muppet here!
