Ah, that's too bad...not unexpected though as I wondered if there would be a restriction on the concessions. Thanks for letting me know as it means that I can officially justify a trip to Sephora...my husband will be so pleased.
I'm not a really 'girly girl' but I swear to god that the second I walk in that store I want one of pretty much everything and walk out considerably poorer.
Make sure you check out " The Cosmetics Company Store", (The one at the chelsea outlets as listed above is very good sometimes) ,before purchasing in Sephoria. This place is usually cheaper if they have your certain items. We bought loads n loads of clinique stuff in the summer at a fraction of the normal cost. Their Clinique gift sets are particularly good value. Other things can be hit or miss, but there has always been bargains to be had when we have went.
Oh and as for all the premium malls / outlets make sure you register at their website, there is alway extra discount books to be had at the shops in the malls. There was def. a voucher book for each of the outlets when we were there in June.

Thanks for the tip on the Cosmetics Company Store - will definately check it out if we make it to one of the outlets this trip...I know we're going to the one in Laughlin as we're doing a side trip there, but may not make it to any of the others...hopefully though!
On the discount books, we usually print out a handful of these vouchers before our trip as they cover a lot of different places...that way we know we've got them all covered at once.

as for Restaurants along the strip , you can only comment on what you have tried and to try all of them would probably mean eating out every night for a year. i intend to try Mon ami gabbi this trip
i,m heading for the following in Dec , of course i haven't yet tried these but they get great reviews.
Peppermill and fireside lounge
Trets - on MAG, you may already know, but they don't take reservations for the patio so if you want to sit outside (which we loved - really made it special we thought) you'll probably have to wait for a table, but they do give you a buzzer that works about 1/2 way through Paris casino...so you can wander around a bit while waiting. We're so looking forward to going back there, but we got so lucky with the centre table right at the railing that we will likely NEVER get as good a table there again.
On Peppermill, bring your appetite (or a football team to help you) as portions are massive. Love the place, go there every trip, but rarely finish more than 1/2 what I ordered.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Thanks for all of your advice! Looks like we shall have to try the restaurant in Paris then! Im hungry at the thought!
Did the Canyon and Hoover Dam last time so am looking to do a different trip this time, long or short. I was reading somewhere about a Vegas Mob tour where the guides are dressed as 50's gangsters and take you to various spots around the strip. Anyone been? This one would keep the boyf happy!
A HUGE thanks for all your help! :T

Hi trets,
I tried Peppermills Fireside Lounge on my trip to Vegas in July and I would second ferf's opinion - the portions are huge!!!! I have a photo of my cob salad and I will read the post on how to insert photos and do so this weekend/next week. Its a really cool place and a must try whilst in Vegas. Its purple and pink in decor with trees hanging over the tables - fab! Apparently quite a few famous films have filmed there.
The menu is HUGE - visit their website before you go and take a look. EVERYONE around us was struggling to eat their food. I think people go there just to see if they can finish their order!!!!
Would deffo go back - but as has been said - you cant really go back to restaurants in Vegas cos there are far too many to try!
I would also recommend The All American Steak & Grill in the Rio. There is a snack bar to the front, but a restaurant in the back. It was the best steak I have ever had to date. Amazing portion sizes - I am licking my lips just thinking about it!!!! Cant wait to get back there - I will break the rule on this occasion (only cos we will probably stay at the Rio again - fingers crossed!).
ALSO & FINALLY - there is a mexican/latin place in the Venetian that I would really recomend. Tables on the veranda overlooking the gondola lake. I wyled away a very pleasant few hours eating nachos (cant remember waht I had for main) and drinking watermelon mojitos - excellent place

We were really lucky the first time we went to MAG. It was Saturday, 5 May, there was the big fight on that weekend and it was Kentucky Derby so Vegas was PACKED!
Arrived for our 7pm reservation and asked about a table on the patio. We were told there would be a wait, but within 5 minutes we were seated! It was quite cool and windy so that may have put some people off as they did say we couldn't change to inside seating if we changed our minds, but being hardy Scots we coped.
We enjoyed it so much that we went back 3 days later and the wait was an hour to an hour and a half at 9.45pm so we sat inside. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much. Maybe it was too soon to go back.
Our reservation is for 9.30pm on Friday and I'm prepared to wait for a patio table.0 -
Looks like the Mytravel T Cook merger is having an effect on the last minute
flights to LAS no availability through Nov and Dec and the flight search now uses T Cook database.0 -

Hi Luci - I totally agree on the waiting for a patio table. When we went, we had a reservation but were told that as you couldn't reserve patio seating, we had to go to the other queue to get on the list and given a buzzer. So it may be worth going a bit early as from we were told having a reservation for the main restaurant doesn't move you up the list for the patio...you'll be at the back of the queue of those alredy waiting and on a Friday night that queue might be quite long.
Enjoy your meal - we haven't figured out exactly what night we'll be eating there next week but looking forward to it anyway!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Steff
watermelon mojitos?! Oh, I need to try this place!
Already have the pineapple mojito from Wynn on the list of drinks for next week.
And I recommend the Peach Bellini and Bellagio Cocktail both at Bellagio.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
IF staying in any of the hotels in Vegas make sure you join the players club. We got a free week stay in a suite at the Luxor following our stay the previous year and that was over the Easter period.
The players card is also linked to other casinos IE Luxor Mirage MGM Mandalay bay so dont forget to clock up your points their as well. Just hand your card to the croupier or put them in the slots.0
