Lu T i am still having problems with Jack too so your not alone, lots of teething behaviour but still no teeth and he turned 9 months on friday. Jack used to wake in the night from being on his tummy and dwe used to have to go in and turn him over. If Imogen is still doing this its just a phase and eventually does past. Sorry tht doesn't help, but we found bolsters as towels useless, he just pushed them out of the way as he rolled. The HV advised against it too in case he couldn't breathe. That staged has past, but he often sits up in the cot and now he is crawling and pulling up on things, that gets practised at night too. The dummy is still a problem, the HV wants us to tackle that when he turns a year and I'm 6 months. Apparently he'll be more receptive then. But in the meantime we are still knackered and i feel hugely jealous of those people who say their LO's sleep through. Jack goes down well but we never ever get a night where we haven't got up at least twice to do a turn over/dummy run/re-lie him down as he's woken and started playing etc........ And then in the morning you go in and he is on his hands and knees rocking or pulling up on the cot side and he looks at you and does a big beaming smile as if to say "bad night? what bad night?......"
I really hope the next one will be a better sleeper and isn't dummy dependant. i also hope to breastfeed too but wonder if that my boob will be a substitute dummy instead.0 -
Bailey, if it's any consolation, my other child barely sleeps at all - last night for example we put him to bed at 8pm, and he finally went to sleep at 11.30pm. He's 6!!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Snaggles you have made me feel better thank you. As I said before getting him to sleep isn't too much of a problem, its staying there past midnight. Although last night was lovely he went to bed at 7pm, asleep by 7.15 and he wimpered 3 times but resettled himself, I didn't actually get up to him until 5.15am, gave a dummy and his musical light and then we emerged out of bed at 7.30 creeping around. I went in to check and put the monitor on so we could go downstairs and realised he had been lying there awake.....just chilling!! There is no pattern to that boy.....
Snaggles you have my sympathy, I guess that means even though you have one good sleeper you are not benefitting due to your son. Or once he's asleep does he go through to a reasonable hour?
DH is complaining that he feels pushed out. Apparently Jack is getting more attention and kisses etc than him. I am trying to understand where he is coming from but when you have dog nose 24/7, kissing Jack is more appealing as he doesn't forget to shave for 3-4 days at a time, eat foods that provide unappealing breath i.e crisps/tea (the poor bloke does have a point) and its hard to hug with sore boobs. I said that I felt I was trying to juggle too many balls and one was inevitably going to be dropped. I am trying to raise a child that isn't a great sleeper and teething, grow another child, keep house/shopping/cooking/cleaning etc and be an affectionate loving wife who is knackered by 8pm. Hmm something isn't right. i remember this happening with Jack though and once we got to the half way mark things did get better.
We put in an insurance claim for our flooded utility and the builders were supposed to come today. I was thinking they would be here by 8am ish from experience with other tradesmen they like to start early and finish early. Yet it is nearly 9.40 and no sign. I hope they are still coming, our house is upside down with the stuff we are storing out of there.0 -
Can anyone please tell me how much child benefit is for the second child. I naively thought it was the same amount as the first, but I have since found out differently but don't know how much less it is. I need to amended our budgets. Thanks.0

Thanks a lot I had forgotten about that site, its £12.10 a week.
You can tell Jack is having his nap, wouldn't get away with this if he was with me.0 -
Hi guys
Re: green nappies, when Hayden had few greenish ones at 10 days old MW said it was due to under or over feeding!
I have six week check today. Hayden was 6 wks yesterday- how time flies! Have had few days of stress last week where everything was winding me up, had a better weekend, girls irritating me again but think it's as it's wet and miserable out. They are happier at mo thanks to making cookies, lil man unsettled and just wants hugs though.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
Re: green nappies, when Hayden had few greenish ones at 10 days old MW said it was due to under or over feeding!
I have six week check today.
I did a google search the other day and discovered lots of different theories!
The one that seems to fit best is that the milk is coming out too fast and causing lots of wind and is basically just going straight through his system!! I've got loads of milk and they get engorged really quickly so when he feeds it spurts out like Niagra falls. (The other side follows suit too!)
I've been trying to keep to one side for a few feeds, rather than swapping at each feed. It seems to be improving but it does get a bit painful.:o Hopefully this will work. My breasts don't seem to be getting quite so full between feeds and the nappies are more yellowy looking. Baby is going longer between feeds too, which is a sign that he's getting the benefit of the hindmilk.
My baby is six week's old now too but here we have the post-natal check at 8 weeks!
Glad you and your little boy are both doing well, Jenpoptab. Nice to see somebody from the same pregnancy thread 'cohort'!0 -
jo_b, hope feeding gets better, keep us posted.
I'm feeding lil man for shorter and he is going usually 3.5 - 4hrs in the day and 6ish at night (7 last night), however he is struggling with wind all day and eve but not at night, hasn't done poo again for few days, guess it's his pattern to be like this!WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
Awwww Bailey, I can really sympathise....when I was pregnant, I used to actively avoid kissing Stu, in case something on his breath made me heave.....it's awful isn't it. In the end I just told him - no kissing unless your teeth and mouth are scrupulously clean.
Ryan does sleep well once he's asleep, it's just frustrating when me and Stu are trying to snatch an hour or so together at the end of the day (Natasha is still too young to pester us...lol), and all we get is a little voice floating down the steps saying 'Mum, I can't sleep', or Mum, my foot hurts', or 'Mum, there's a dog barking outside', or whatever excuse he has thought up!
And why is it always 'Mum'? Never 'Dad'.......
Oh god, he's actually shouting me RIGHT NOW!! :rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
