  • charlie's got a bad cold too. Not bothering him much at all, just not nice for me as i have it too. We are hoping he will be better for Monday as he is starting at nursery ready for me going back to work.

so our weekend plan i suppose, is to have some quality time with him, and with an in-law visit on Saturday, so i will be making a cake for them later today.

    Nothing majorly exciting then!

hope Alice is feeling better soon

Charlotte had her first cold last week. She was struggling feeding from my breast with a blocked nose, so I had to keep picking the bogies out before a feed. Motherhood is so glamourous isn't it?

Hope the poorly babies feel better soon, and that Nathan manages the long drive.
Here I go again on my own....
  • Hi all,

Sorry, haven't checked on here for a few days... Luca was bitten by a dog on his face at the weekend and we've not long got out of the hospital. Poor mite, luckily it looked worse that it was but the dog punctured his fontanelle and docs wanted to observe him for a few days. I feel so guilty about it even though it wasn't my fault.

Poor Luca - that sounds awful. Was it a dog you knew?

I hope he feels better soon.

    Hello all!

Thought it was about time that I graduated from the Pregnancy thread over to here, as my little boy is now five weeks old!

It's a bit hectic at the minute because of the school holidays so not online much at the minute. Will probably be spending many more hours on here next month whilst breastfeeding! Beats watching Power Rangers or Lazy Town anyway! :D

I remember reading about somebody's breastfeeding baby having greenish nappies. My boy's nappies have been green for a few days. The advice from the health visitor hasn't really helped. (She suggested massaging my breasts whilst feeding to encourage the hind milk out.) I'm not convinced that he isn't reaching the hind milk though. He's feeding well, latched on properly and seems to empty the breast properly at a feed, yet the nappies are still green. Any ideas, anybody?

(I breastfed my eldest for 9 months and never had this problem.) If I don't reply to any answers quickly, I'm not being ignorant just busy! :o

PS...Blissy_Rhi, I hope your little boy recovers quickly. Sounds really nasty! :(

Charlie usually had greenish nappies when something upset his digestive system a bit - usually lots of wind at the same time, and it depended on what i had been eating. Can't remember the last time it was discussed what people said, but my HV was of the opinion that all the fore and hind milk stuff was not right, and a bit outdated.

Perhaps try watching what you have eaten and if it has an effect.

Hiya - it was me with the green nappies. Well, not me....Natasha...lol!

I was worried about her having too much foremilk too, so I expressed quite a bit of milk before each feed, to make sure she wasn't filling herself up with foremilk before she got to the hind milk. It made absolutely no difference at all, and in the end it seems to have been a viral infection, as it continued for about 2 weeks and then suddenly they went back to yellow again.

If expressing a bit first doesn't work, then it's likely to be a bug, or maybe something in your diet that the baby is intolerant to. (The reason it's green is because it has passed through the baby's system too quickly, sort of like an adult having the runs). But obviously, pester the health visitor again if it doesn't clear up on its own in a few days or so.

Blissy-Rhi - hope Luca is better soon. How awful. How did it happen?

We're still struggling on and off with Imogen. Presume it's her teeth but no sign of anything yet, despite quite a few traumatic nights. Last night she threw up all over me (again) 15 mins before I was due to go out  So there I was, in only my knickers  , cleaning and changing my poor little mite. She understands she's being sick now and is NOT impressed about it.

A quick shower and lashings of coconut body butter and you'd never know I stank of cheesy sick! ;)

I was going to a mummy's night to learn how to play poker. We're having a poker night in aid of Yummy Mummy Week in September, but only a couple could play so we took the opportunity to turn it into a girlie night.

She woke up again about 9.30pm but hubby dealt with her. I didn't get in until 11pm. Can't believe I was still awake!

Hope sickly babies are better soon. We're going to see my Mum in Whitby on Monday (they're on holiday there). It'll be the first time Imogen's seen the sea, so we're really looking forward to that. Not that it'll register with here I'm sure;)

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
