:grouphug: big hugs for you. The most important thing is that you have been diagnosed so you can now work towards getting better.
I hope the reflux situation improves quickly

:grouphug: More hugs from me Bailey. I had a bad day yesterday - she screamed all day - but nowhere near as bad as you're going through.
Don't see anti-ds as a bad thing. A friend of ours had really bad PND and the tablets really helped. It's no reflection on how good a mother (or person) you are if you end up taking them. At least you'd feel more like yourself and be better able to deal with the little one.
St John's Wort is meant to be good, just watch it if you've gone/are going back on the pill as it can interfere.
Hope things get better soon. Just remember that they definitely will, it may just take some time.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Hi, can i join?
I have a baby boy (4 months old) called Finley and a baby girl (18 months old) called Summer. Its mega hard work and I really struggle some days!
We've just decided that i'm going to stay at home full-time but we're still going to put the kiddies in nursery two afternoons a week so i can have some time to get something done!! I'm finding it all a bit scary and overwhelming at the moment.
Today was an awful day as they both SCREAMED at me all day long. I spent half the day in tears and the other half watching the clock waiting for my DH to get home!!
Oh dear, lol!!!
BAILEY - Have you tried a milk called SMA Staydown?? Its specifically for babies who puke alot. We had the same problem with my ds. He was puking after every feed and sometimes inbetween just for fun. Two weeks on SMA staydown totally sorted him out, we then moved him back to regular milk and we've never had a problem since. Also, you say that he really cries when you try to wind him. Have you tried giving him a dummy to suck on whilst you wind him? It has always worked wonders for my two! I also used to keep him in his car seat after his feed, this seemed to help keep his milk down also. I know this sounds really obvious but make sure you wind him really really well. Even if you have to sit there for 15 mins patting him on the back. I found that Finley would always be hiding a few sneaky burps and if I didn't get them - puke city! What the Deuce?0 -
Hi Pink Butterfly, welcome to the club! Nice to have some new members. :T
We appear to have got over screaming in the night, but Imogen has now decided to feed every 2 hours! I've tried giving her both sides, but she either refuses point blank or pukes a load up straight after!
I'm now trying giving her 5 minutes before giving her the other side, which seems to work okay for now. Who knows what will happen next! Thought it was too good to hope that she was falling into a pattern at 3 weeks old.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Hi Lu T
I find it takes about 6-8 weeks for them to finally settle down into a 'routine' as such. Don't traumatise yourself trying to get them into a pattern any sooner, trust me i know, lol!
Finley slept really well last night, he went from 7.00pm till 8.45am!!! I have started weaning him this week and hes loving it. Hes only 5 months but he is such a hungry baby. He was starting to get through five 9oz bottles a day! We tried banana suprise today and he wolfed down a whole bowl! It did make me laugh though as he was also blowing raspberries whilst eating and he was spraying his face and mine with banana goop! What the Deuce?0 -
Pattern what is that ds1 never did anything remotely like a routine till he was 9 months old.
ds1 also puked up alot what worked for me is to just offer one side as that way they get mor e hindmilk it stopped the puking and he still gained weight fine the 2 hourly feeding could just be a growthspurt ( they don't usually last long) but every baby is different.
Baby is being more settled but very upset today (think last nights curry might be to blame).
I am having a problem with nappies for ds1 at the moment he is in pampers active size 5 at night but has been waking up with wet pj's in the morning not only is this extra washing it also wakes him up very early can anyone recommend nappies to try as I don't really want to buy lots of different brands and waste money on the ones that do not work ( we have tried natures best (think that is the name can't check as he is asleep) and allthough they work he gets a rash when we use them at night)
Hi pink butterfly welcome!!!!

Anyone got any advice on expressing? Have had 3 goes today and only managed 4oz! Hubby is going to try to give her a bottle for the first time tonight so keep your fingers crossed.
Just wondered if there is a trick to expressing - certain time of day, before or after or even in between feeds - or at the same time! I know it's my first time but it feels a bit like a dairy in here - I spent 40 mins to get 2oz!
Any advice appreciated please :rotfl:MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
OMG! Isnt being a mum the best feeling in the world - obviously the most stressfull job i have done at times but by far the best! My little girl is 8 months now and when she gives me her biggest grins after waking up it makes every day feel great! Lol, just waiting to see if the 'terrible two's' are as bad as people say though!
For Lu T - i had the same prob, no wonder El was always hungry. I found i got the most first thing in the morning or after a hot bath but even then it wasnt much! The only thing i can suggest is persevere and hope it ups ups your milk supply - express often and keep topping up the same bottle (keep it in the fridge), also try and keep bubba near by coz apparently this help the let down reflex. Good luck hun!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
Hi Lu T
which pump are you using??? With a manual pump I can pump for ages but end up with a tiny bit of milk and a sore hand. With an electric pump I get a full bottle in 15 min.
I hired the medela mini electric from the hospital last time.
