  • another one to add to the not sleeping club - DS2 was 17 weeks old on Tuesday, and he has not slept through once yet in all that time, and now waking up 3 or 4 x a night and i have no idea why. I am getting so knackered - it must be 7 months or more since my last decent nights sleep. I am starting to give him more formula/baby rice, and going to start fully weaning him to see if i can make a difference. I always offer him a feed when he wakes, and he always takes it, and he is a huge boy at nearly 17ibs so i think he is hungry, just starting to have more food at night rather than through the day,

We are also having a proper drool fest, and he is constantly ramming his hands in his mouth as well, so it could be teeth. I don't think it is any easier with a 2nd kid. I thought i would have it sussed by now, but not.

As for sleeping on the front, DS2 sleeps this way every time. I was really reluctant to do it, but it is the only way he will sleep unless he is tucked right into me in our bed, and i came to the conclusion that he was safer on his front than he was with us when the weather was so hot. I don't like it, but it is working for him. With DS1, once he could roll, we let him sleep how he wanted - always started him on his back, but he would roll immediately onto his belly with his bum in the air, and still sleeps like that now at nearly 2.

I'm another one who can't believe the speed at which the boys are growing. I sometimes struggle to get my head around being a mum of two, especially one who is nearly 2.

    Hello!
Just stumbled onto this thread!(usually a grabbit addict!)
Have been looking for a cheap stroller ... an umbrella(?) type one to take with us on holiday. DS is 18 months and will be almost 23 months and 26 months when we fly out(both are long haul with changes, etc).
We have a Bugaboo Cam and love it but no way I'm venturing out with that on a flight!
What do people reccommend? It'll probably get pretty bashed about so don't really want to spend too much...but has to be safe.
    thanks!

Another grumpy MSE baby to add to the clan!!! El is getting her 3rd tooth through. Her 1st 2 didn't seem to bother her but they are this time. It hasn't been easy as were away from home staying in a hotel so she is in our room which I think isn't helping her as she is hearing us, so she is so unsettled at night.
As for sleeping on Tum I have put El to sleep on her tummy since about 4 months as she wouldn't settle any other way.

  • I need to jump in with unwell vibes. Molly has had a cold since Friday and still snotty now, she isn't too keen on me wiping her nose either. Jack is teething and producing revolting nappies and I had a stomach bug friday night and spent the weekend wiped out.

Plus I can also feel my PND creeping up on me again, I am acknowledging anxious feelings and not wanting to be on my own much, so I think I might get to the docs and see if they can up them in preparation for the winter. I think that is what is causing it.

Big hugs to all the unwell babies and adults and hope we can announce happy smiling faces soon.

babies must still all be grouchy cos no ones been here for a while!

well my little man is teething in earnest now with a big red hot cheek and lots of drool and general grumpiness. he's hardly slept all day but of course has conked out now and sound asleep, and he gets ready for bed at 6.30 so i hope he goes down tonight without a fuss.
    DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY ;)

Charlotte has turned into a teenager I think.

I told her off for opening the fridge and getting cans of beer out and she yelled a right mouthful back at me. No idea what she was saying, but she was pretty annoyed about being told off :rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....

They are funny aren't they. I get - no - medoit, stoppit, and i keep being growled at when he loses his temper - at which point i can't look at him for laughing,

The best is, i have 2 hanging organisers in the kiddies wardrobes, and he keeps hiding behind them, and i struggle to see where he is.

    We will get there.

I'm actually finding DS2 harder at the moment as he is being so needy - he won't sit by himself for more than a minute before screaming at me. And i am finding the weaning a bit grimmer than with ds1 - he was see food and eat it all with no mess right from the start - ds2 is wanting a mouthful then a bit of milk, and as i am still BF i am finding it a bit grim, plus if i don't watch he is eating on my knee, and i end up with him grabbing my Tshirt and stuffing it in his mouth. The joys of kids.

bailey know what you mean about the winter affecting your depression. I have really been fighting it for the past couple of weeks - i am struggling to get my head around it all, and i'm not on meds. September/oct/nov time for the past 3 years has been bad for me. I feel like a pressure cooker with so many thoughts and commitments it grinds me down. Money is the biggest one at the minute, and not having anywhere near enough.
