hi all, got a question, when did you first take your baby on a bus. i am worried about all the germs in such a small area.0
-
thanks izoomzoom, i just thought maybe the baby rice being a little bit heavier would fill him more at night and maybe he would sleep better. Last night he was up 7 times and this has been going on for a couple of weeks now, growth spurts supposedly only last a couple of days. basically I'm completely shattered, my husband has been on holiday the last 2 weeks so he's been giving me a lie in in the morning but he goes back to work on monday and i dont know how I'll cope if the little one keeps this up, I can barely concentrate enough to drive.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Hi all - just back from 2 weeks in Portugal and catching up with the news. Had a fab time, if not as relaxing as it used to be with just two of us, the good weather and the pool!
Re buses - I took Imogen when she was a matter of weeks old. I would rather she was exposed to as many germs as possible as early as possible as it strengthens their immune systems (I think!) I had more of a problem getting her, me, the change bag and the pram on and off a bus with steps!
We are now officially TTC! Not in earnest, but the job situation is close to sorting itself out as one of my good friends who is already a manager has decided to apply, so she is a dead cert to get it. I'm actually really pleased as the job was what my head was telling me to do, but my heart was saying "HAVE ANOTHER BABY!!" I will still apply and hopefully get an interview for the experience, but have no illusions about who will get the job.
We've had a fab time on holiday with Imogen's language coming on in leaps and bounds. She copies things we say all the time, which is very cute. We now have the classic, "I like it, I want it," with random pointing in shops. I've taught her to say "I love you," while touching her heart, which is very very cute!! However, OH has corrupted this by getting her to say "I like beer!" :rotfl: :rotfl:
Will keep it short as am absolutely knackered after a long day of travelling. Hope the sleeping all settles down and teeth appear soon. I think Imogen must have known all the MSE babies were struggling at night as we've only had 2 unbroken nights out of 14 and we're really feeling it. Fingers crossed she realises it's Sunday and sleeps in in the morning.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Hi girls
had a bit of a strange one today. Lo has got a rash that basically looks like nettle rash in varying sizes but the strange thing is it appears and then within about 10 mins it disappears and reappears somewhere else (3 or 4 places at a time). He's not bothered by it at all, still eating, had bath, bottle and gone to sleep fine. Only thing different is that tried some Cow & gate dairy desserts that they were promoting in tescos and he had one of them!
Any ideas?Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -

Daniel is fine, 10 months old, crawling, standing all the time, waving, clapping, saying ta, dad dad, bye, hiya and a few other noises that we cant quite dechiper yet, completely heart breakingly gorgeous and he is totally in love with Upsy Daisy!0 -
HI CG nice to see you :0) Archie is 10 mths too - doesn't time fly - not long now till we'll be planning birthday parties. (Although we won't be wondering where the good weather went as it's already full on winter it seems!!)
Seems only yesterday I was waddling along to the maternity hospital to let them deliver my baby and I STILL haven't lost the baby weight!!MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
hello again
Just had to share this with you. Imogen did her first poo on her potty this morning! :T :j We have had a couple of abortive attempts at potty training before which haven't gone too well so I'm trying again as she's been asking for her potty while we've been away and it was the first thing she brought me when we got home yesterday. If I can have some success today MIL ca take over tomorrow, nursery Tuesday, MIL weds then she's off to my mum's Thurs & Fri. So we could be completely potty trained and I will only have done one day. I'm quite okay about that though!

Yay - congrats on the poo :j
James was potty trained quite quickly. He just got up when he was 2 and said he didn't want a nappy on anymore, and that was it! Had a couple of dribbles in pants when he held off and then didn't get there quite quick enough, but other than that we had no problems.
Had a rare night out last night. Went to a charity ball to raise funds for breast cancer. It was good fun. There was a burlesque dance group on and I was expecting a bit of raunchy dancing with stocking tops and stuff. However they stripped down to nipple tassles and g-strings, but it was all done in a fun and glam way. Really enjoyed it but husband says I'm getting nipple tassles for Christmas now :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0 -

Hives that look like nettle rash can be a sign of allergic reaction. Sounds quite mild though.
My eldest had a similar thing but they came up all over her body and her face and lips swelled - we never determined what had caused it though. Only happened once and we had to give her antihistamine. I've had it too, very severely once in my twenties. It's official name is urticaria.
I'd keep an eye on it and if it continues would mention it to gp or hv. What was in the dessert? Strawberries are notorious for causing allergies btw.0 -
