Charlotte hasn't been naughty, but my older two have been at each others throats all day
Had a nightmare getting school shoes for the eldest. With recent events, it slipped my mind that I'd forgotten to get him some and now all the shops have hardly any stock in. Have visited a few Clarks shops, but none had the laced which he wanted. Found a shop with stock of velcro or slip on shoes, so he ended up with the velcro ones as apparantly wearing slip on shoes means you are gay
Just been sewing the badge on his blazer, so he's all ready for his first day at secondary school on Thursday. Here I go again on my own....0 -
whats baby signing??
It's sign language. You teach the baby the same signs as deaf/dumb people use, and the baby is able to tell you if they need a drink, have a dirty nappy etc., before they learn to say the words.
I started doing it, but didn't keep it up and have just taught Charlotte how to say the words as normal. My SIL's daughter is 13 months though, and she can do lots. They were showing her animal flash cards and she was doing signs for animals. Here I go again on my own....0 -
And Poppy has been 'off' tonight too!. It might well be teething but she has 6 already and has never been as unsettled as this. I put her to bed at her normal time but 1.5hrs later she was still crying in 15min intervals!. I am so not used to this. Maybe she's getting me prepared for new baby :rotfl:. Calpol seems to have helped and she has been settled for a while now.
Maz, I asked the sleeping question a little while ago as I was so worried! I kept finding Poppy in all sorts of positions and swiftly put her back on her back but I have just left her to it now. I still put her down on her back though, probably out of habit and thats what she is used to, but she is usually fully turned around when I check on her in the night and sitting up playing with a toy in the morning.

izoom, hope DS has a good first day at middle school. And Becles, hope all goes well for DS on Thursday :T.
I really can't believe that Poppy will be ONE next month!. Where the heck has the year gone?. At this rate I will be buying school uniform myself in the blink of an eye!
.
Hi Carol, hope you are ok. I took Poppy to baby signing classes at my local SureStart centre. It was a 6w course and we really enjoyed it but I didn't carry on with it afterwards. I can sign extremely well to Baa Baa Black Sheep though!
Aw, Choc, poor Tom!! Hope he gets better soon.

Isn't that crazy? Seems like yesterday we were in overdue club. I keep looking at my house, thinking it is newly decorated, but it's been a year. I look at stuff still piled in the corner, never put back in its place - that's been there for a year. I still have a box by my bed that contained essential items to get me through the nights back then - like snacks, gaviscon, rennies, water etc. (I also still have the stretch marks, the huge belly and high bp medication grrrr).
They're not even babies anymore, they're toddlers. A whole year of parenting under our belts - all those impossible hurdles hurdled.
I was reading my diary from before the pregnancy and came across a little gem. Two weeks before I conceived I wrote about a weird feeling of excitement, like I was on the verge of something huge, but no idea what. I thought it might be to do with job or money, little did I know!
Right, I need some sleep, talking rubbish now:wall:0 -
I noticed that Charlotte isn't a baby the other day, when she marched into the sitting room, switched the TV on and then climbed on the sofa and made herself comfy :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0

I'm another one with an unsettled baby! (what's going on? ) I put it down to teething but you can never be too sure. Alex is just really moody and grumpy this week, not a happy bunny at all. :rolleyes:0 -
Thanks tsstss7, nice to know its not just me... think I forget sometimes!! He was a little !!!!!! last night going to sleep as well and then this morning he was tired and overslept.
Question: when did you start LO sleeping on their front at night? LO lays like that when he does naps at nursery but they said dont do it at night because he cant crawl yet. Whats your experiences ?
Hi Mazcabs - another bad bedtime for us tonight!! 10 mths is an akward age I think!!
I always put Archie on his back to bed just out of habit if nothing else. However he also sleeps on his front and I don't move him back any more as I think it's only really dangerous if they can't move away from being too hot etc. Archie has the whole range of movements though so I don't worry too much about him ( he's a giant baby and big for his age so doesn't seem delicate at all).
Have to laugh tonight though - he fell asleep sitting up!
Seems he did his nightly protest holding onto the side of the cot and crying for mummy and fell asleep before he lay down again!!)MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
Another unsettled baby here too! But Ben will be 6 months old this week and has two teeth just come through.
Moved his cot into a room with his brother today - not too sure about this. Like others he tendsto move himself around quite a lot in the night and i am worried he might get himself stuck, he wears a sleeping bag so hopefully he won't.
Septemberbaby - I can't believe Poppy is nearly one. Where does the time go. I daren't visit the Pregnancy thread because i am sooooo broody -but i think 4 children is definitely enough, definitely.
Been weaning and trying Ben on lots of finger foods, but the other day he had a piece of broccoli which he picked up himself and was sick all over his highchair when he choked on it! Feel like a real first-timer!
Still waiting for my periods to return after finishing bfing. Also think i may have a water infection! The joysnow mum of 4!!!0 -
Thanks guys... its been so nice to log on here the past couple days and see that I'm not alone. We seem to be up and down with the sleeping. Last night he went to sleep fine and slept through til 5.30, when I must admit I picked him up and went into our bed and he slept for another 3/4's hour. Typical man!!
He's doing 3 days at nursery from this week so that means 4 days in the office for me. They have offered me another day but think that I do enjoy working one day at home plus of course money comes into it!
Definately going to have to dig out the 12-18 month old clothes my sister gave me soon as Henry so big / tall he is not fitting in anything 9-12 m... mind you he is 10 months old today, where did that go?Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0
