more help required from bf mums.
i have bf for 12 weeks with little or no difficulty and now all of a sudden my baby wont content himself to feed during the day, he takes one or 2 sucks and then pulls off and looks round him, he does this a couple of times and then screams cos he wants to sit up. i've tried feeding him in a quiet room with the curtains drawn but it makes no difference, i think he's afraid of misssing something! hes very inquisitive! but this has the result that my boobs are filling up and then not being emptied, and also he has started feeding at 7pm (when he goes to bed) then he wakes at 10pm, midnight, 2am and 5am. Its seems he is filling up at night and i dont know what to do about it! any advice anyone?DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

daphne descends Ellie heart murmur was found when she was 6 weeks old. She went to hospital and saw cardiologist. She was given a heart trace (those sticky pads all over her chest) took the reading then through to another room for a scan exactly the same as when you were scanned when you were pregnant. The hospital part is nothing serious so nothing to panic a bout there. But I know from experience you will worry until your seen at the hospital. Her murmur was just innocent and we were told she might notice it more when excited or ill but hoped itwould be gone by the time she starts school. So hopefully like Ellie, Elliots murmur is nothing to worry about.
nadnad have you tried sitting him up to feed him. I was shown this in hospital and Ellie seemed to like it for a while. It's hard to explain the position but if you want to see it can try posting a photo tomoro as babe is in bed!!
Or you could try expressing and giving him a bottle so he can fully sit up and feed and be nosey at the same time!!!Everyone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -
Thanks everyone for the reassurance :grouphug: I just hate waiting for things so will be anxious until we get the letter, then the appointment, etc. I'm sure he is fine though
nadnad - sorry - my DS was a nightmare around this age! I think the world just became a more exciting place and feeding was boooooring! I see you've tried the quiet/dark room thing so I can only assure you that it will pass...0 -
Ditto the nightmare breastfeeding child at 4 mths here too his fav trick was to take a few sucks and then look around taking my nipple with him - ouuuuuch!
Archie now likes to feed in many positions and his current fav is lying down on top of me feeding lengthways. It's a bit squashy but easier on the arms than the cradle hold now he's so big.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
DD, I'm sure Elliot will be just fine (we just have to work on destressing you now!)

So, would you believe as soon as I get the Morhulin creme home, the rash had all but gone!. Well, at least I have it in now - but hopefully I won't need it for a while.

Hello Everyone,
Sorry not been around much, life just gets in the way.
DD - I also remember a phase at about 3/4 months when she would rather look round than feed. When we were out and about at this age she would have a snack feed then fill up when we get home. Now at 16 months she is happy to wait until she gets home.
Katie is now 16 months old and is finally cutting her fifth tooth, :j she's only had four since she was 12 months old - doesn't stop her eating though. I can see a full mouth of teeth in her gums they are just slow at coming through, I'm hoping they all come through together and get it over and done with.
She's still a shorty, 12-18 month trousers still have 3 inch turnups on them! :rotfl:
Katie is still a bf monster - before breakfast, mid-morning (when I'm around), mid-afternoon, before bed, and once in the night. But she eats her solids really well too, there doesn't seem to be anything that she doesn't like.
Her new trick this evening was spinning in circles!!!
Katie doesn't have many words yet, but she babbles loads, she does say "hiya" and "ta". She also woofs everytime she sees a dog in life or on TV.
I'm off work for the next couple of weeks :Tas I've got swollen, painful, ankle, wrist and finger joints, the doctor suspects some kind of arthiritis, I had loads of blood taken today to rule other things out. He's also sending me to see a rheumatologist.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

Yay - well done Katie :j
Charlotte has just started doing the spinning in circles thing tooHer other favourite trick is to stand with her back to you, then bend over and look at you through her legs and giggle. She thinks it's hilarious if you do back as well :rotfl:
She babbles all the time and says some things. Husband made her an omlette for a change for her dinner yesterday and when he put it on the high chair tray she said excitidly "ooooh what's this?"
Hope your joints get sorted and you feel better soon. Here I go again on my own....0 -
thanks everyone at least i know others have went through the same thing, i'll just grit my teeth and power through it, even when he attempts to rip my nipple off just so he can have a look at a light switch or light bulb, or cushion or whatever else grabs his attention!DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Silly question but have you had a bad cold/virus or something similar??Everyone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -

Sorry to wander in prematurely from the pregnancy thread (I definitely haven't had her yet, I like to think I would have noticed!) but I read this thread religiously in the hope of picking up tips!
Anyway, nadnad, might a nursing necklace help? That way he's got something to look at / fiddle with, without moving his head and detaching delicate parts of your anatomy?Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0
