been to breast clinic, there for 2 hours wasnt too bad, got examined, then ultrasound and then saw doctor for results and she said i have a cyst on each side but they are milk cysts and have come from breast feeding, they are nothing to worry about and will most likely go when i stop feeding. just to let you all know - worry over. although i did hit my OH car with my own this morning, its usually gone when i go out but he was minding baby this morning and i drove straight into it. oops.

nadnad - glad the breast clinic went okay (even if setting off wasn't so good)

3kids - yes in effect you could say BLW is just giving them finger foods from the beginning. It gives the child control of the process as it is them (and their capability) which determines when they start eating and how much. Some children start eating quite a lot straight away whereas others take longer. I found weaning to be very little work at all and almost a non-event really. For the first three months Alice did not really actually eat anything (other than the odd tiny bit which happened to go down) which meant that if it was not convenient to give her food then we didn't need to bother. (This was very useful when she was nine months and we had to manage without the kitchen for a week as I was able to just breastfeed her that week with no problems.)

I've got some friends who've just found out they are expecting a baby so I'm planning to give them a list of baby clubs to join. So far I've thought of: Can anyone think of any others I should include?

Oh and the pregnancies best kept secrets

nadnad Glad all went well at the breast clinic. Oh dear poor OH car :rotfl: When I first read it I thought you meant you had hit OH in the car!! I just imagined you slapping him round the face :rotfl:

I used http://www.babycentre.co.uk/ through pregnancy and they still send me weekly emails of new activities I can be trying with LO. Also through pregnancy it gives you regklar updates of your babies growth. All she has to do is put in her due date and it will update her weekly!

This is just IMO I hated Emmas diary what C**p. Well the bag you got was so so but the regular email updates I ended up unsubscribing to!!

Well, I wasn't intending to do BLW (I did "normal" weaning for DS and DD) but Tom seems to have decided for himself that's what we're doing! I was a bit concerned that he wasn't eating much but am happier now that i've read that. He still breastfeeds loads so he's getting food that way and even though I start work again in a couple of weeks I only live 2 minutes drive from work so can pop home and feed at lunchtime. He's still just a tiny little thing (still in mostly 0-3 clothes at 7 months) so maybe he doesn't need a lot of food anyway.

Nadnad - oops for the car - was there any damage?

  • Sorry for your loss, Becles xxx

Poppy has nappy rash this week for the first time . She's recently started pooing over night and I think that might be the cause?. Anyway, I have been using Sudocrem as I had that in but it still looks sore so I've just been to the chemist and ordered the mega magic Morhulin!!! Can anyone tell me how much it is? The pharmacist didn't have a clue but it should be there after 10am tomorrow :D.

Joseph dropped his milk in favour of solids - it was one of t'other, no space for both apparently, so he's been having one milk a day for months now, two on special occasions . HUGE fights over this with my mum. She's always saying I'm starving him. But HVs assured me over and over again that this is fine as long as he's eating. And he eats like a horse, so must be getting his nutrients from somewhere.

Ooh, ham. And frankfurters. Pure bliss apparently. Salt has a lot to answer for.

As for the teeth, Joseph's two came out at 7.5 months and ever since any little niggle and it's 'he's teething'. But we've had nothing since. I hope you get some peace for a while.
