Claire, that was beautiful. Thanks very much.
On weaning, Imogen was a very hungry baby. Was on 45oz of hungry baby milk and when I started weaning at 17wks, and was quickly on 3 2-course meals a day PLUS all of the milk. Went to see HV who said this had to stop! So started cutting down on milk and upping calcium in her meals. HV was more than happy with her and she steadily reduced her milk intake to 20oz per day from about 6mths. You'll soon know if LO isn't getting enough of the right stuff as they will stop putting on weight or just be miserable 'cos they're hungry all the time. Just watch the calcium.
Imogen appeared downstairs tonight after we'd put her to bed   "Hello mummy" she said, and sat down to watch OH eat his tea. Well, her bum barely hit the ground before I picked her up and took her back up the stairs. She got through two baby gates, plus her closed bedroom door and down the stairs
Little madam has been causing trouble every night this week at bedtime, taking up to 30mins to settle. She knocks on the door, pulls stuff out of her drawers and last night discovered how to open the door. The baby gate on her doorway is a click down one and I don't always push it down properly as it's a bit stiff. I obviously hadn't clicked it down tonight and she managed to lift it up (little beggar's been watching how we close & open it for some months now). I keep saying, "It's just a phase!". She used to be so good at bedtime...
On Sunday she and I had lunch with my parents. We all put some stuff on her plate for her to eat and I'd taken her cutlery so she could eat. She ate a bit to start with, but then decided she wanted some of Nana's chips. I told her a few times she needed to eat some more things off her plate before she could ask Nana whether she could have some chips. After a few minutes she just turned around and said, "Gramps chips please,". My mum couldn't stifle her laughter as I looked on open-mouthed at my 20 month old daughter who had just outwitted me. Apparently I was just the same at that age. I'm astounded that she has enough grasp of language to get one over on me like that. Looks like we're in for a rough ride with this precocious one! :rotfl:MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Its official!!!! My little girl is normal!!! After everything we've been through the doctor at outpatients has declared that we are very lucky and she is a perfectly normal nearly 2 year old!
Still hasn't quite registered. I wasn't expecting it. Especially as I don't know of any toddlers who can be described as 'normal'.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
My sister's boy went completely off milk at one point. She tried everything, but he wouldn't have it. So to make sure he got enough calcium she introduced some of those calcium drops. He's going to school soon.....and he's way too big for 4-5 year old clothes. So it must have done some good.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Becles, sorry about your Gran, big hugs!
SB, I get Morhulin from my tesco's pharmacy and its around £2.80, def under £3. Molly should signs of a red bot last night and I slapped it on quite thickly, this morning it was much better, not completely gone but a real improvement. I've used it on Jack before its good stuff.
Glad your daughter is doing great guns rchnapp1, a relief off your mind I bet. I don't know any normal 2 year olds either.
Oh I meant to post this a few months ago now, but this is Jack at 18 months in a police car, he is obsessed with the emergency services and does a really good siren noise, which isnt so good before 7am.

I have the most common baby problem ever - WIND
Alex (who is now 3 weeks old) has had super bad wind for the last two days and I just can't seem to shift it. The farts are shaking the windows!
Now the farts are still making my giggle (sleep deprivation can do funny things to a person?) but Alex has not slept for more than 15 mins in a row for 24 hours and is not feeding properly as he doesnt seem to have room for the milk with all the wind in there ... I don't want to starve him!
