Thank for the warm welcome
I have the most common baby problem ever - WIND
Alex (who is now 3 weeks old) has had super bad wind for the last two days and I just can't seem to shift it. The farts are shaking the windows!
Now the farts are still making my giggle (sleep deprivation can do funny things to a person?) but Alex has not slept for more than 15 mins in a row for 24 hours and is not feeding properly as he doesnt seem to have room for the milk with all the wind in there ... I don't want to starve him!

i sympathise my boy is 13 weeks old today and really suffered very badly at the start with wind - he still has a bad time at least once a day but, its a lot improved.
i use infacol and i think its helps a bit, tried gripe water (but not until 4weeks old i think) but it was too watery and he either choked on it or it ran out everywhere. but the main thing i think helps is keeping baby very upright for about 10-15 minutes after a feed - you need to keep the back ramrod straight and the wind comes out much easier, when i did this for a while wind came out both directions with very little effort. also if this doesnt work then put baby on his bely across your knee and rub his back, or massage his tummy in a circular motion. but i really think keeping them really upright for a good wee while after each feed helps a lot.
hope this helps a bit, its horrible when they're crying and you cant help them.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Gem - we got some homeophathic tablets from our local chemist who makes these remedies himself they were brilliant and i have now been back and got some for teething.:p
Also I dont know if you are b/feeding or not but we used the tommee tippee anti colic bottles with the tube down the middle and these are also really good stopping the baby swallowing air with the milk19.6.10 Weight loss 6lb0 -
I took Elliot for his 10 month check today (should have been 8 months but nevermind that) and the doctor said he has a heart murmur.
Does anyone have any experience of this?
Being referred to the paediatrician at the hospital to investigate - it does seem that most murmurs are innocent but am still worried of course
He is otherwise brilliant and thriving though
Just hope my little baby is all okay0 -

He'll be fine I'm sure.
I had one when I was a baby. It was just something they kept an eye on and by the time I was 3 ish, it had gone. So my mother tells me.0 -

You got to see a doctor? Our check was just HV asking a few questions
I had a murmur when I was a baby, and my heart is fine, despite what my anxiety does to it!
I obviously hope it all turns out innocent, and that it does it quickly. Give him a hug from us. And go on, one for yourself. We'll be thinking of you.:wall:0 -

Daphne - I don't have any first hand experience of heart murmurs but I believe that generally they don't turn into anything serious. Hope it all goes well when you take him to the hospital.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the advise.
The teething has abated for a little while (although no new teeth visable yet) and my daughter is on much better form, still not keen to feed when I am sitting up but we have got round it so far.
I have decided to stop worrying about the weaning and try baby led weaning as you have suggested and she loves it, she is getting very messy and seems to be eating small amounts.0
