    Hello
I have a question, my daughter is 13 weeks old now and for the past few weeks I have been bathing her nightly as part of her bedtime routine, she loves the bath and she settles to sleep well after. However my husband is concerned that we are bathing her too regularly. I know you aren't supposed to bath new born babies every night, but do you think it's ok now?
    Thanks Cathy

    Hi all

Was a better night last night with LO but then OH and me overslept - cant win! His rash is still around though so maybe not related to the heat... its just like dry skin on his tummy and then on his back it appears in little patches. Poor thing looked so funny covered in sudacrem last night. Maybe see if regular HV is there tomorrow at clinic and see what she suggests... although it doesnt seem to bother him and also seems to come and go.....

My nephew has been chewing his fingers so much that he's got a whitlow !!
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

    Hi & welcome

I have always bathed my children daily, even when they were newborns. It is also nice to incorporate it into their bedtime routine.

Don't you feel much better after a bath ??

I just started a new job ( 3 months ago)
But really want to have a second baby.
Is there a time limit that you have to work for a company before you are entitled to maternity pay??? I would happliy wait a while longer. Or does it depend on the company you work for????

    Thanks for any help

i don't bathe my 11 week old every night but only because of having other children. when i do bath him about every other day i normally do it in the morning when i have time to take time and let him have his nappy off for a while. personally i don't see anything wrong with bathing baby every day - unless they seem to have skin problems i.e. dryness.
    now mum of 4!!!

traveller, I still get frazzled brain now!

Just been to HV clinic and saw a different 2 to last week and she's suggested I go to drs re LO's dry skin...

His weight seems to have stuck aswell for the last month since starting solids,(not that he's skinny 19lbs and 6 months) but did anyone else's LO do this?

traveller - kids are exhausting even when you've had a full night's sleep, and it's only 2 weeks since the birth - you're still recovering from all the physical side of things. I still don't feel recovered from the birth and it's been a month now. I go for long walks but sometimes every step hurts and I feel poleaxed when I get home.

Took the plunge and got LO in terry nappies today. lol, it's taken me two days to figure out how to fold them and use nappy nippas. She looks most bizarre - like a little weeble with this huge padded bottom. :D

I think I am getting LO into very bad habits. She is held all the time and now doesn't appreciate being left to sit or lie anywhere and has a total paddy. I will have to get her angelcare monitor on the go so I can put her in moses basket in a separate room - she is with us all the time at the moment and goes to sleep with the telly blaring and all the lights on. :o The monitor pad needs to rest on a piece of plywood for it to work properly so as you can imagine I haven't got round to finding any plywood from anywhere. Don't have a car so it's a difficult thing to lug about. I will make that my mission for tomorrow and then I can start implementing routines.

I also have frazzle brain, and sometimes it seems worse when I have had a full nights sleep ????

I haven't had Samantha weighed since I started solids, but it does slow down quite a bit once you start solids ... and also when they really start to become mobile. Samantha was 17lbs at her 6m weigh in.

I'm seriously not sure you ever quite return to how you were. My brain is complete mush since I had kids and lots of my friends say the same :rotfl:

Saying that, I definitely think around 6 months is a bit of a benchmark for having got through the hardest bit.
