Morning all, well at least i think it is... bad night again, LO slept on my chest all night and the days are becoming the same...LO must really be suffering with his teeth because constant crying..you just get him settled and then 3 minutes later he is balling his eye out.

The rash on his tummy seems to have moved and now he has some round his neck and forehead but a friend at work said this is probably teething rash ..does that sound right?

I just hope they will still take him in nursery tomorrow as I'm in office , my mums out and dont think OH is about either! Ah the joys of motherhood:j

Never heard of teething rash other than nappy rash, but it sounds like heat rash to me. Especially given it coincides with this warm spell. Is the rash on his head in the same place as the rim of a hat by any chance?

Don't ask me  - I've never been so confused as I am about weaning. Doesn't help that all HVs have different opinions - one minute you're supposed to be replacing milk feeds with solids, the next you're supposed to be sneaking 600mls a day! I spent weeks confused and in tears before we worked out a routine, at which point the HV are accusing me of starving the little mite and telling me I should be getting up in the middle of the night to feed him . So now, yet again, I have changed the system and there were tears again. I absolutely hate it, wish I didn't have to wean. Or listen to people who should know better

And that is why since DD2 was born, we have seen the HV precisely twice in 18 months :rotfl: - and I'd have avoided those two if I'd been able to get out of the appointments!

I have much preferred to do my own research this time around using the internet, advice from friends or people on here and by phoning my gp or nhs direct re any illnesses I haven't been sure about. It's been soooo much better than my experience of HVs when I had DD1.

I think I am starting to agree with you Agutka and purplepatch.... took LO to Clinic just now and 2 totally different HV's which meant explaining everything again as last week they didnt write in book... she reckons heat rash or reaction to starting food/bubble bath - only used water last 2 weeks/ washing powder/ fab cond ( strange cos last 2 have been same since before he was born) but then said go to GP if you think LO is unwell!! But she said wasnt teething rash...

On the way back I picked up OH's stop smoking pills and got more sense from the Pharmacist!!;)
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

    Congratulations Michelle xx

Had our appointment at the hospital on monday and Adam is now 10lbs 6oz, he's put on just under a lb in 5 weeks and that's on the prescription milk with extra calories. Consultant wasn't that happy so i have to wake little man in the night for an extra feed to beef him up more, i think they're worried that they've missed something but all of his tests have come back fine.

We were in fits of laughter the other night, i put adam to bed and we could hear him over the monitor laughing in his sleep and gurgling away.
    He sounded so cute.

HV- haven't seen mine for ages and i get conflicting advice from her adam's consultant, and his dietician.

    Hi Everyone,

DD is not enjoying this time of year, her eyes and nose are streaming and she's got a horrible cough - the GP confirmed hayfever yesterday , she's been prescribed an anti-histamine to take twice a day.

It's had a good effect as Tuesday night no one got any sleep she was coughing so much, last night it was a bit better and there is nothing tonight :D, she is still coughing a bit during the day.

She was clingy with mum and DH today, but cheered up once mummy came home and she got some mummy juice from source ;). She's cute though when DH is looking after her, she will sit on his knee lift his t-shirt and lie on his tummy just for the skin contact - lifting of top is her cue for mummy juice.

Charlotte has learned to wave, but she will only wave at Daddy or Mr Tumble

Saw the doctor again today regarding the high blood sugar. She's had a look at the fasting blood tests (one high and one normal) and she's sending me for a fasting glucose test. I'm going on holiday on Monday, so they are squeezing me in tomorrow morning to do it, so I'm fasting now!
Here I go again on my own....

Becles- hope everything comes back okay, did you treat yourself to a nice scrumptious lunch after fasting?

I know this has nothing to do with babies or parenting but at the ripe old age of 26, i'm officially a nana to 5 of the cutest little kittens :D

Hope everything is OK, Becles. Wonder if its a similar glucose test that I had mid pregnancy? I fasted overnight, had bloods taken, drank a sickly sweet drink, sat around for a few hours then more blood! I think the results took a week or so to come through. Hope they get to the bottom of your problems xxx
