him regarding the loola pram. emailed seller straight after i bought it and they said they wouldn't sell anything they wouldn't be happy to use. Went into my local mothercare and they don't stock it. unfortunatley the seller lives 25 miles away from me and i paid cash for it. Have used it today and was desparate to see another mum with the same pram so i can pounce on her and see if her pram shakes!!!! For all i know all these prams could be like this but i would really like to know for sure. Blaming OH as he wouldn't let me buy a new one - bet he wishes he had let me now.now mum of 4!!!0

I am looking at a maclaren techno XT and we tried one in mothercare yesterday, and I have asked two other mums and so far no complaints (now don't all come along and burst my bubble by telling me stuff to put me off OR bidding like mad on ebay :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )
i do like the colour though, i have the pink and chocolate one.0 -
Aww, 3kids, hope you get it sorted. Perhaps email the seller again and request a demo as you didn't have the time when you bought it? Bit mean of them if they have sold it and it was faulty  . SIL bought a second hand Loola off eBay too but has just got rid of it after 4 months (hope you weren't the buyer! :rotfl::o). She kept getting stuck in shop aisles and it was really bulky in her carboot.
I also do like the idea of baby facing me but now Poppy is 7m she likes to look out and about now (far more interesting things to look at than me!). We have the Silver Cross 3D which convertes from forward facing carrycot and carseat modes to the outward pushchair which we use now.
Try and email again and see what happens. Its too much money to be wasted if you don't feel its right :grouphug:

just bought a second hand loola of ebay (paid cash:mad: ). on testing it out at home it seems very wobbly, the top bars move a lot and the actual seat can be moved back and forwards slightly. is this normal, if it is then i am happy, but obviuosly i don't want to put my baby in something dangerous that is going to fall apart. obviously i am annoyed at myself (and OH who wouldn't let me buy new). Any advice would be great, thanks.
HI 3 kids - I have had one of these from new (wrote a bit about it in a previous post last week) it is a bit rickety I would say...the seat moves forward and back a little - not sure what you mean by the bars at the top though do you mean the handles? Mine aren't loose at all if that answers your question ...if not let me know and I'll have a closer look ( I'm in the car alot so only use it to go into town and weekends really)MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -

HI, thanks for responding. when i say the bars i mean the barswhich run down each side which have the handles on the end. They are made up of two parts and the top part wobbles. i wasn't sure if this was to make it easy turning or a fault. So if i wobble the handle the whole bar along the side moves. hope that makes sense.now mum of 4!!!0 -
is it def the tx techno - only seen choc / pink in xlr version (which i luv, but not the price ....
Just to wander in... atm,the xt or the xlr are the one we're thinking of getting for when the baby's born (so thanks for me for the downsides Heather, very good to know, hmmm, that could sound sarcastic written down! It wasn't, I really do mean it!) and I discovered both the xt and xlr (the dark blue one and a peachy one) in our local Costco. Plus VAT the xt was about £130 and the xlr was £140 which is about what you'd pay for the xt in other shops :-) Hope that helps :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -

Walked to school this morning so can give a more qualified response - yes my handles do rattle (never really noticed before) but not so much that you would think it was falling apart. The top bar that attaches to the handles moves too but no big gaps or anything. I think that because the prams are so solid it might be a big change for you perhaps - I thought mine was very "flexible" when I first started using it as initially I used an old fashioned silver cross and they are very sturdy. I've got used to it however and it does seeem to be able to withstand my hulking big 6 mth old (he's only about 5" shorter than another baby/toddler in the family 8 mths older than him).
At one point I did think about trading it in for something else but there is no other pram system really that ticks all the boxes for me like the loola does - just peeved now they've bought out the loola up as the resale value on mine is going to suffer .....:mad:MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -

thanks - maybe it is just the way they are then and mine moves a bit more as it is used a bit more. I have been using it and definitely prefer seeing baby - wish i had bought one when he was born. got a graco mosaic and the resale value on that is tiny.
if anybody else has one and can tell me if the bar that has the handles on moves and if the seat moves back and forth i would be grateful. i am such a worrier and should have bought a new one in the first place.now mum of 4!!!0
